    Abstract: Injection monitoring circuitry is provided for coupling to part of an injection device having a syringe and a plunger rod. The injection monitoring circuitry has an input to receive force measurement data from a force sensor, the force measurement data includes a plurality of timestamped force measurements of force applied by a user to the injection device when an injection is administered to an injection site. Processing circuitry is provided to determine from the force measurement data when an end of injection has been reached, the end of injection corresponding to the plunger rod having reached an end position in a distal portion of the barrel of the syringe during administration of the injection by the user. Machine readable instructions and an injection monitoring method are also provided.

    Abstract: A system for controlling a culinary instrument includes a component data structure storing, for at least some culinary components, a culinary attribute. A menu data structure stores, for each of multiple items, a set of constituent components. An order interface module receives an item selection by a user and a set of adjustments to the selected item. Each element of the set describes an amount modification of a corresponding culinary component. An order feedback module uses a first set of rules to assess the set of adjustments based on the corresponding culinary attributes. In response to the assessment, the order feedback module selectively provides feedback to the user regarding limitations on the set of adjustments. A control transformation module uses a second set of rules to transform the adjusted selected item into a set of instrument control instructions for control of the culinary instrument, which autonomously performs the instructions.

    Abstract: Provided herein is an improved bi-stable relay operable with a relay control circuit including a boost converter and an energy storage device, which is used to switch the bi-stable relay. In some embodiments, the bi-stable relay includes a solenoid wound with multiple coil windings. A conductive plate (e.g., a bus bar) may be coupled to a plunger of the solenoid, and is provided with contacts on each end of the conductive plate. The conductive plate is configured to electrically engage and disengage the solenoid upon respective application of power to the solenoid. The control circuit causes the solenoid to remain in an open position when selectively energized by a pulse for moving and retaining the conductive plate of the plunger against the solenoid for allowing wide operating voltage and reduced operating power.

    Abstract: Provided herein are improved relay protection systems that can detect a short to ground condition on an output of a relay. A relay protection system can bias an output of the relay. The output of the relay can be monitored to determine if a bias level reduces below a predetermined threshold, indicating a short to ground condition. If a short to ground condition is detected, the relay protection system can prevent the relay from transitioning from an open position to a closed position. As a result, a power source can remain decoupled from a load, thereby preventing damage to the relay and the load.
