  • Patent number: 10406720
Abstract: An apparatus for pre-processing logs to separate outer jacket fibers, comprising a plurality of spaced apart rollers through which a log can pass, each roller having at least one outwardly extending concentric projection, the projection being suitable to separate fibers. A pressure mechanism determines the diameter of the log so that the rollers can provide the appropriate amount of pressure to and engagement of the projections with the log. A feeding mechanism moves the log along a flow path past the rollers.

  • Patent number: 7055662
Abstract: An improved axle beam and self-contained drum brake assembly, particularly for heavy duty trucks, is disclosed. The assembly includes a brake spider and actuating members mounted thereto via a mounting assembly comprising a mounting sleeve attached to the brake spider by means of a second mounting bracket, and a first mounting bracket securing a pneumatic brake actuator cylinder to the mounting sleeve. A brake actuating camshaft is positioned and rotationally supported therewithin. The disclosed brake assembly allows for numerous variations of axle beam and suspension arrangements.

  • Patent number: 6977049
Abstract: A process for treating an industrial waste stream containing a borane compound including contacting the industrial waste stream with a resin carrying an oxidation catalyst that is capable of oxidizing the borane compound to boric acid.

  • Patent number: 6942810
Abstract: A method for treating an electroless plating liquid or other metal-containing solution that also contains reducing agents. The method includes providing a reaction vessel containing an anode, a cathode, and a hydrogen ion-permeable membrane separating the anode and the cathode, placing the metal-containing liquid in contact with the anode, placing a catholyte solution in contact with the cathode; driving an electrical current through the anode and the cathode to oxidize the reducing agents present, and removing the used catholyte solution and the partially treated liquid from the electrodes, optionally from the reaction vessel to separate reservoirs. The partially treated liquid and an anolyte solution are placed in contact with the cathode and anode, respectively, and a current is again driven through the anode and cathode, plating a majority of the metal ions onto the cathode. The steps of oxidizing the reducing agents and plating the metal ions may also be reversed in order.
