  • Publication number: 20120220713
Abstract: A method of making a polymer, including: heating, for a sufficient time and temperature, to polymerize a homogenous mixture including of at least one polymerizable monomer, and a solvent mixture comprised of at least a first liquid and a second liquid, the first liquid being a stronger solvent for the product polymer than the weaker second liquid, and the polymer product precipitates from the homogenous mixture during the heating, as defined herein. Also disclosed are semiconducting articles and printable inks prepared with the resulting narrow polydispersity polymers, as defined herein.

  • Publication number: 20120132053
Abstract: A method for protecting a sheet surface by forming a discontinuous layer of a long-chain organic material having a main carbon chain comprising at least 12 carbon atoms and a hydrophilic group at one end of the main chain on the sheet surface. The protective layer is easy to remove using standard cleaning method, while providing satisfactory surface protection against particle contamination and scratches, at a very low coating thickness. The invention is particularly useful for protecting glass sheet surfaces during glass sheet finishing such as edge grinding and polishing. The invention is especially useful for the finishing and packaging of LCD glass substrates.

  • Publication number: 20110114169
Abstract: Dye sensitized solar cells having conductive metal oxide layers with nano-whiskers and methods of making the dye sensitized solar cells having conductive metal oxide layers with nano-whiskers are described. The method for making a dye sensitized solar cell comprises providing a conductive metal oxide layer comprising nano-whiskers, applying a porous semi-conducting layer on the conductive metal oxide layer, applying a dye to at least a portion of the porous semi-conducting layer, and applying an electrolyte adjacent to at least a portion of the dye.
