  • Publication number: 20240139820
Abstract: The present disclosure provides three-dimensional (3D) printing systems, apparatuses, software, and methods for the production of at least one requested 3D object. The 3D printer includes a material conveyance system, filtering system, and/or an unpacking station. The material conveyance system may transport pre-transformed material (e.g., powder) against gravity. The 3D printing described herein facilitated reducing interruptions of (e.g., providing non interrupted) (ii) material recycling, and/or (i) material dispensing through a component of the 3D printer such as a layer dispenser. The material conveyance system may operate above ambient pressure, e.g., while performing a suction operation. The present disclosure provides three-dimensional (3D) printing processes, apparatuses, software, and systems for controlling and/or treating gas and gas borne debris in an atmosphere of a 3D printer.

  • Patent number: 8819190
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product provides effective management and deployment of image files within a Virtual Input/Output (I/O) Server (VIOS) cluster. An Image Management (IM) utility utilizes a discovery process to establish connections with objects in order to manage these objects. Following discovery of an ICP client, the IM utility enables creation of a virtual server partition and initiates the importing of a captured image to a VIOS cluster Storage Pool (SP). The IM utility creates logical units (LUs) within the Image Management Fileset (IMF) for each file within the captured image. The IM utility maps the LUs to the VIOS Cluster SP using unique image file handles. The IM utility configures the new storage that comprises the created LUs. The IM utility copies image files to the appropriate storage device/LU. When import/copy of the image is completed, the IM utility activates the virtual server partition.

  • Patent number: 8055875
Abstract: A partition wizard allows automatically defining from a set of system requirements a solution profile that defines a combination of hardware and software in multiple logical partitions to satisfy the performance objectives. The solution profile may be used by an order processing system to automatically generate an order for a target computer system. The solution profile may also be used by a hardware management console to automatically create logical partitions on the target computer system, then may be used by an operating system install engine to automatically install a desired operating system in each of the logical partitions on the target computer system and to automatically install desired software into each of the logical partitions in the target computer system. The solution profile may also be used to manage the target computer system.

  • Patent number: 8055733
Abstract: Hardware and partition information of an existing LPAR system is collected and stored in a first system plan file. The first system plan file is applied to a partition planning tool. The partition planning tool identifies hardware to be reused in a second LPAR system and filters hardware to be excluded from the second LPAR system. The partition planning tool creates a plan for the second LPAR system using the identified hardware to be reused and the partition information. The created plan for the second LPAR system is applied to a partition deployment tool to partition the second LPAR system. The created plan for the second LPAR system is used to move and place hardware to be reused in the second LPAR system.

  • Publication number: 20080221855
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and storage medium that, in an embodiment, simulate allocation of a simulated resource to simulated partitions in a simulated logically-partitioned computer and determine whether the allocation conflicts. The simulation may include summing amounts of the simulated resource for the simulated partition in an order, where the order of the simulated partitions is received via a user interface. In various embodiments, the allocation may conflict if the allocation exceeds the capacity of the simulated logically-partitioned computer or if the simulated resource is restricted to exclusive allocation. The result of the simulation, including whether the allocation conflicts, is presented via the user interface. In various embodiments, the simulated resource may be memory, an I/O controller, or a storage device.

  • Publication number: 20070294065
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for implementing plans for logical partition (LPAR) systems includes the generation of a representation of existing hardware and LPAR configuration of a system that is used as input for further LPAR planning and configuration modeling to enable producing accurate and valid plans for possible deployment. The existing system is surveyed and the representation of existing hardware and LPAR configuration of the system is generated. The representation is applied to a partition planning tool and used to create a plan for the LPAR system.

  • Patent number: 7078087
Abstract: The invention provides a wipe. The wipes include at least one non-woven web. The web includes an edge portion adjoining a main portion. The web has a top surface and a spaced apart opposite bottom surface and is defined by a width of the web which is perpendicular to a length of the web. The top surface of the main portion defines a top plane and the bottom surface of the main portion defines a bottom plane. The top and bottom planes are parallel to one another and a z-directional dimension of the web extends through the top and bottom planes and is orthogonal to the top and bottom planes. The edge portion includes and edge treatment wherein the edge treatment comprises at least a portion of the edge portion being permanently deformed in a non-random pattern in the z-directional dimension.

  • Patent number: 6205471
Abstract: A framework for use with object-oriented programming systems provides a common message processing system structure that can be placed on any OOP platform and be configured to support any e-mail message protocol standard or specific mail server function. The framework defines an e-mail message as a number of distinct objects, each of which contains information that describes some portion of the message. All messages received by a system in which the framework is implemented are defined on this core object structure. Another set of objects and methods define the processing steps required for a mail server to process a message. A message is received as a class of message objects, which are assigned a message type that determines the subsequent processing steps to which the message object is subjected. As a message is processed, the objects of which it is comprised are changed, so that the message processing can be interrupted and then resumed without loss or duplication of processing steps.
