  • Publication number: 20250388124
Abstract: A vehicle system includes a battery pack including a plurality of battery cells, a voltage sensor configured to sense an output voltage of the plurality of battery cells, and a control module in communication with the voltage sensor. The control module is configured to detect a failure associated with the battery pack, receive, from the voltage sensor, a first voltage signal representing a first voltage value and a second voltage signal representing a second voltage value, determine a defined ratio of the first voltage value and the second voltage value, determine a battery cell location of the detected failure in the battery pack based on the defined ratio and a total number of the plurality of battery cells in the battery pack, and generate an alert indicating the battery cell location of the detected failure. Other example vehicle systems and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 12502971
Abstract: A vehicle includes a system performing a method of operating the vehicle. The system includes a battery pack, a sensor associated with the battery pack, a cooling system for cooling the battery pack, and a processor. The processor is configured to measure a battery pack parameter of the battery pack for an occurrence of a battery pack fault, measure a sensor parameter for the occurrence of a sensor fault in the sensor, measure a cooling system parameter of the cooling system for the occurrence of a cooling system fault, determine an ingress of a fluid into the battery pack based on the occurrence of the battery pack fault and one of the sensor fault and the cooling system fault, and perform an action based on the ingress of the fluid into the battery pack.

  • Publication number: 20250187443
Abstract: An assessment for loss of isolation in a rechargeable energy storage systems (RESS). The assessment may include collecting isolation resistance data for a plurality of RESSs operating onboard a fleet of vehicles, applying statistical methods and engineering rules to remove erroneous peaks and duplicate values from the isolation resistance data, generating one or more isolation rules based on the isolation resistance data to represent thresholds for determining whether a loss of isolation has occurred for the RESS associated therewith, and identifying an isolation issue type for the RESSs determined to have the loss of isolation.
