  • Publication number: 20130219842
Abstract: A filter for use within a baghouse for filtering particulate material from fluid flow. The filter is to be supported by a tubesheet of the baghouse. The filter includes an elongate bag that has an open end adapted to be disposed adjacent to the tubesheet and an encircling sidewall that extends from the open end to a distal end of the bag. The sidewall permits passage of fluid there through so that the fluid may pass through the bag and blocks passage of particulate material. The filter includes an elongate cage that is located within and supporting the bag and that has a variable effective length. The filter includes cage-associated structure for increasing the effective length of the cage to maintain the sidewall to be taut adjacent the cage. The cage may include structure inhibiting movement of the cage. The filter may be part of a baghouse assembly.

  • Publication number: 20120012518
Abstract: A coreless filter cartridge includes a filtration media having a plurality of pleats formed in a tubular configuration. The filtration media includes a first end that extends to a second end through an intermediate portion having an exterior surface and an interior surface that defines a hollow core. At least one retention device is adhered to the exterior surface of the filtration media. The at least one retention device is configured and disposed to limit radial movement of the filtration media. The filter cartridge is devoid of an internal core support provided within the hollow core thereby establishing a coreless filter cartridge.

  • Patent number: 7648563
Abstract: A method of assembling a baghouse bag filter tensioning assembly is provided. The assembly includes a compressible spring having a progressively increasing spring rate. The spring rate facilitates induction of a substantially constant spring tension over a range of pre-determined operating conditions. The method includes coupling the spring to a bag filter support frame and a bag filter. The method also includes compressing the spring into a pretensioned condition. The method further includes coupling a bag filter to a baghouse floor. The method also includes decompressing the spring such that a tension induced in the bag filter is substantially similar to the spring tension induced over a range of pre-determined operating conditions.

  • Publication number: 20040097892
Abstract: The catheter has a retainer/seal made of soft material glued to the inside circumference at its opening. The catheter is applied by inserting the penis head into the opening and pulling the catheter retainer/seal onto the penis shaft. The excess material at the opening is wrapped around the shaft of the penis and secured with a short length of tape applied to the outside of the catheter. The retainer/seal encircles the penis shaft just proximal to the penis head. The lower (distal) surface of the retainer/seal shoulders up against the ridge formed by the penis head. The diameter of the penis shaft is less than the diameter of the penis head at its proximal end. Because the retainer/seal has been fitted to the smaller diameter penis shaft, the catheter cannot be removed without deforming the penis head.

  • Patent number: 6409785
Abstract: A pleatable and cleanable filter media (22) that has a HEPA filtration rating. The filter media (22) includes a porous primary filtration layer (22). The primary filtration layer tending to be less than HEPA rated upon being damaged. A first substrate layer (64) attached to said primary filtration layer (62) for maintaining the shape of the filter media (22). The first substrate layer (64) includes a non-woven filtration media and being less than HEPA rated. A second substrate layer (82) attached to the first substrate layer (64) functioning as a secondary filter in the event of damage to the primary filtration layer (62). The second substrate layer (82) includes a non-woven filtration media and being less than HEPA rated.

  • Patent number: 6203591
Abstract: A filter assembly (24) includes a first filter portion (80) with a first attachment (100) adapted to attach to a tubesheet (44) to support at least a portion of the first filter portion in a second plenum (40) and to permit fluid communication between the first filter portion and a first plenum (42). A tubular member (104) is fixed to and extends from the first attachment (100). A pleated filter element (120) is disposed adjacent to the tubular member (104) for support. A second attachment (140) is fixed to the tubular member (104) at a second end of the first filter portion (80) and defines an opening through which fluid may flow. The tubular member (104) is fixed to the first and second attachments (100, 140) with sufficient strength to support the weight of at least one other filter portion. A second filter portion (82) includes a third attachment (180) at a first end and defines an opening through which fluid may flow. A tubular member (186) is fixed to and extends from the third attachment (180).

  • Patent number: 6110249
Abstract: A filter element is adapted to be located in a gas stream. The filter element comprises a substrate having a structure selected from the group consisting of scrimed needled felt, scrimless needled felt, woven fabric and mesh. The substrate comprises at least two different materials. A first one of the materials has a first melting temperature. A second one of the materials has a second melting temperature lower than the first melting temperature. An expanded polytetrafluoroethylene filtering membrane is adapted to be located upstream relative to the substrate in the gas stream and supported by the substrate. The substrate is attached to the filtering membrane by the second material of the substrate melted to engage the membrane and fix the membrane to the substrate.
