Abstract: System and method for analyzing communication signals using image processing techniques. A computer includes image acquisition (IMAQ) hardware and one or more image processing/analysis programs. The computer is coupled to an instrument which receives and/or generates signals, and produces signal image data, e.g., VGA data, which is transmitted to the computer's memory through the IMAQ hardware. The image processing programs process the signal image data to detect image features. An analysis program analyzes the detected features to generate signal analysis results characterizing the signal, which are output. The signal image data may include eye diagrams for high-speed digital communication signal analysis.
