  • Patent number: 6056324
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed to complete a threaded connection between two connector members by relative rotation between the connectors, utilizing fluid pressure between them to overcome radial load resistance during make up by rotation, and thereafter to produce axial and radial loading in the completed connection, but without otherwise applying longitudinal forces to drive the two connectors together to make up the threaded connection. In a disclosed embodiment, a pin connector has a tapered neck with external threads, and a box connector has a collar with a tapered interior, featuring tapered threads. The pin neck is received within the box collar, and the two sets of threads are made up by relative rotation between the pin and box. When a stall position is reached due to radial resistance forces, two combinations of bump and ramp seals provide a sealed zone between the sets of threads.

  • Patent number: 4206443
Abstract: A protective load disconnect unit is remotely controlled at a single control input terminal from a master controller and monitoring unit. A power switching circuit is actuated to switch a load to be controlled from on to off by a control signal from the master unit. The input terminal is maintained electrically isolated from the switching circuit. A load status response circuit senses the on-off conditions of the power switching circuit. A variable impedance circuit included in the load status response circuit is isolated from the power switching circuit and is connected to the input terminal. The on and off conditions of the power switching circuit changes the variable impedance circuit so that an electrical condition at the input terminal is varied to indicate the load status while the control signal concurrently actuates the switching circuit.

  • Patent number: 4110814
Abstract: An enclosure for watthour meters includes a cover having an opening for connecting a meter data sending unit within the enclosure to an adjacent remote meter reading terminal unit. A cover locking rim has locking tabs for securing the cover to a meter base assembly so that the cover is rotatably positionable relative to the base. The rotated positions of the cover opening permit different orientations of a remote meter reading package at a fixed meter mounting position.

  • Patent number: 4031511
Abstract: A comparator formed of complementary MOS gates. A variable-fixed word comparator for a word length of N-bits requires only N pairs of complementary MOS devices. A variable-variable word comparator for a word length of N-bits requires only 2 N pairs of complementary MOS devices.
