  • Patent number: 11754185
Abstract: A metal O-ring is provided. The metal O-ring has a sidewall with an outer surface and an inner surface. The outer surface of the sidewall is machined to selectively thinning the thickness of the sidewall, such that the sidewall of the of the metal O-ring has a plurality of thicknesses equal to or less than a maximum thickness and equal to or more than a minimum thickness. Selectively thinning the sidewall by machining the outer surface allows for control of the elasticity of the metal O-ring. Controlling the elasticity of the metal O-ring, and potentially increasing the spring back, may provide for increased contract pressure at a sealing interface, which would facilitate sealing. The machined outer surface of the metal O-ring are generally machined to flat surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4400238
Abstract: An apparatus for processing an endless web includes means for supporting the endless web at a first location and a roll for supporting the endless web at a second location. The roll has first and second ends. First and second carriages are engaged to first and second substantially parallel tracks respectively for rotatably supporting the first and second ends of the roll respectively in a normal operating position and for moving the roll relative to the support means along the tracks. A bridge connects the first and second carriages. Means are mounted to the bridge for lifting the roll at a location between the first and second ends, whereby the roll is supported by the lifting means and the first carriage, whereby the endless web may be inserted or removed over the second end of the roll. The lifting means includes a cradle for supporting the roll, means for moving the cradle into and out of a position underneath the roll and means for elevating the cradle while the cradle is in the position under the roll.

  • Patent number: 4362308
Abstract: A multi-purpose assembly is constructed to be arranged from a compact folded position into a portable chair and container. The assembly includes a pair of sidewall members each having side arms pivotally connected at one end to opposite sides of a base. Telescoping assemblies are connected to the other ends of the side arms between common sides to secure the sidewall members in an upright position and to permit their rotation into a folded position overlying the base. The multi-purpose assembly is arranged into a portable chair and container from the compact folded position by rotating one or both of the sidewall members into the upright position. Movement of the multi-purpose assembly over loose terrain, such as sand and the like, is assisted by a ribbed roller secured adjacent to one side of the base.
