Patent number: 11958110Abstract: In an example of a method for three-dimensional printing, a first amount of a binding agent is selectively applied, based on a 3D object model, to individual build material layers of a particulate build material including metal particles to forming an intermediate structure. The binding agent and/or a void-formation agent is selectively applied, based on the 3D object model, to at least one interior layer of the individual build material layers so that a total amount of the binding agent, the void-formation agent, or both the binding agent and the void-formation agent in the at least one of the individual build material layers is greater than the first amount. This patterns an area that is to contain voids. The intermediate structure is heated to form a 3D structure including a void-containing breakable connection.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2018Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Jason C. Patent number: 5625686Abstract: A subscriber module (40) for a network interface device (10) having a jack (100) defining a plug-receiving cavity (102) thereinto, and having a plug (50) insertable into the jack. The plug includes a plurality of interconnecting contacts (56) disposed at a mating end (58) thereof, and the jack includes first and second contacts (106, 112) secured within the plug-receiving cavity in spaced-apart disconnected pairs. Insertion of plug (50) into jack (100) moves interconnecting contacts (56) between associated ones of first and second contacts (106, 112) to electrically interconnect them, completing otherwise unconnected circuits between the distribution cable and the subscriber premise wiring. Preferably plug (50) includes a sealing member (74) therearound to seal the mating interface when plug (50) is inserted into jack (100).Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1996Date of Patent: April 29, 1997Assignee: The Whitaker CorporationInventors: Harry M. Capper, James S. Hower, James W. Robertson

Patent number: 5496192Abstract: A cross-connection assembly (10) including a plurality of cross-connection sites (14) provided by housing modules (30) secured to a base frame (12). Each site (14) is defined by a silo (52) containing a first terminal (60) and an actuator (120) secured thereatop rotatable to terminate a first wire (112) to the first terminal. At a selected site, a second terminal (160) is mountable to the actuator (120) thereat to electrically engage the first terminal, and a corresponding cap (190) over the second terminal is initially rotatable with respect to actuator (120) in order to terminate a second wire (220) at the site. Upon the first rotation the cap becomes locked to the actuator, providing that later rotation of the cap also moves the actuator and second terminal and second wire of necessity to permit untermination and retermination of the first wire (112) with respect to the first terminal (60).Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1994Date of Patent: March 5, 1996Assignee: The Whitaker CorporationInventors: James S. Patent number: 5092787Abstract: A power distribution system for prewiring a modular wall panel unit with electrical conductors. The system is installed in the wiring channel that extends along the bottom edge of the panel unit. The system includes a power block located at each of the opposite ends of the panel wiring channel. Each power block comprises a housing containing ten flat, vertically aligned bus bars that are each connected to a separate one of four line, four neutral, a safety ground and an isolated ground conductors of the power supply of the site at which the panel unit is installed. Each power block is capable of receiving, at the end thereof adjacent the end of the wiring channel, on either or both faces thereof, a connector for a jumper cable for connecting two similar power distribution systems in adjoining panel units.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1991Date of Patent: March 3, 1992Assignee: AMP IncorporatedInventors: James H. Wise, Jay L. French, John L. Himes, Jr., James S. Hower, Douglas J. Pirc, Ronald M. Weber

Patent number: 4969838Abstract: A latch and combined latch locking means and handle for securing in place a plug-in electrical connector mated to a second connector. The latch comprises a latch plate pivotally joined to one end of the connector to permit deflection of the plate. A post is mounted on the receptacle at a position opposite the latch plate on the connector. Cooperating shoulders on the post and the latch plate restrain the connector from being withdrawn from the receptacle when the latch plate is in a first position. When the latch plate is deflected to a second position, the shoulders disengage to permit withdrawal of the connector from the receptacle. The latch locking means and handle comprises a bail pivotally mounted in the connector to permit the bail to be folded flush with the connector. In the flush position, the bail extends over the latch plate and prevents the plate from being deflected to a position disengaging the shoulders.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1989Date of Patent: November 13, 1990Assignee: AMP IncorporatedInventors: John L.
