    Abstract: A more efficient and economical phosphorus furnace process with much improved and safer working conditions is described. The process is carried out without an electrostatic precipitator, while ensuring that the furnace exit gases are at consistently low temperatures, and at a slight positive pressure in the duct from the furnace to the precipitator and that partial condensation of phosphorus prior to the condensers takes place substantially dry.
