Abstract: Filter media and filters are provided that are formed from extruded reticular structures, such as nettings or meshes, and may be used in a variety of demanding filter applications that require high resistance to elevated temperatures, chemical reactions, corrosion, stress-cracking and wear. A filter media comprises an extruded reticular structure comprising an array of intersecting monofilaments or strands bonded to each other. The strands each have a thickness of about 4 mils to about 8 mils and comprise a high-temperature thermoplastic material. The high-temperature thermoplastic material is selected to resist deformation at elevated temperatures to avoid compromising the integrity of the filter and to exhibit thermal stability such that it can endure continuous service at elevated temperatures.
