  • Patent number: 11142320
Abstract: A cabin module for a commercial aircraft includes a set of bulkheads defining a quadrant with an inboard wall and converging side walls. The module is sub-divided by a removable partition which splits the module into two passenger compartments. The quadrant shape of the module enables it to overlap an adjacent seat area, thereby using space between seat areas that is otherwise underutilised. In a particular form the modules define a single central aisle which transitions from a pair of parallel aisles aft via a Y-shaped transition region.

  • Patent number: 7959231
Abstract: A dual plane armrest includes upper and lower forearm supports that overlap to permit respective use by neighbors. The upper support may be cut-away at the rear to accommodate the elbow of the user of the lower support. The upper forearm support is disposed above the lower forearm support partially or completely. The dual plane armrest provides increased lateral space for neighbors without increasing lateral seat pitch.

  • Publication number: 20090295209
Abstract: A seat, particularly for aircraft, has a backrest with a high pivot. Such a backrest permits a range of supported semi-reclining seating positions without inconveniencing an occupant of the next rearward seat row. The seat also permits selection of seat pan length to suit the height of the occupant.
