  • Publication number: 20240111643
Abstract: An approach for managing and minimized failure of one or more devices in a computerized cluster and/or vehicle infrastructure is disclosed. The proactive approach for mitigating such black swan events as it relate to hardware failures (e.g., servers, network, vehicle systems/architecture, etc.). The approach would proactively inactivate “suspect” components (i.e., components that are completely functional in multiple systems) based on component vintage data from systems where components have failed or malfunctioned. A dedicated service is actively updating suspect components and their respective vintages spread across various systems. Furthermore, the approach backups components using different vintages are effectively utilized to avoid complete system failure.

  • Publication number: 20080044114
Abstract: The present invention provides a storage bag including a bag body including two opposing sidewalls, the sidewalls including peripheral edges and the sidewalls being attached together along at least a portion of the peripheral edges. Each of the sidewalls include an outer surface and an inner surface, where the inner surfaces define opposing inner faces, and at least one of the inner faces includes a pressure sensitive composite material. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, a process for forming a storage bag material is provided including the steps of: providing a sheet of base film; providing a pressure sensitive composite material having an adhesive on one side thereof; moving the sheet of base film and the pressure sensitive composite material into overlaying engagement; and attaching the pressure sensitive composite material to the sheet of base film.

  • Publication number: 20070246185
Abstract: A casting mold and method for its use to achieve in-mold modification of the casting metal is disclosed. One or more chambers are located within the casting mold's runner system. Each chamber can contain metallurgical modifiers for adjusting the chemical composition of the metal to improve the mechanical and physical properties of an article cast from the metal. One or more modifiers can be placed in the chamber(s) as the casting mold is assembled for use. As the melt is introduced to the casting mold, it passes through the chamber(s) and liquefies the modifier. Amounts of the liquid modifier, then, are carried away and become dispersed in the melt as it continues through the runner system and into the mold cavity. The metallurgical modifiers can be selected from any number of known additives or alloying elements, including strontium, among others.

  • Patent number: 7097049
Abstract: A window treatment swatch card and a swatch card display for displaying a plurality of groups of swatch cards. Each swatch card has an actual sample of window treatment material and indicia identifying information associated with the particular window treatment material attached on a first portion thereof. Each swatch card within each group is provided with indicia identifying information associated with the corresponding sample on a second portion thereof. The display unit includes a plurality of columns of pockets, each of which is closely sized for one group of said swatch cards to be removably stored therein in an upright fashion. The swatch cards, having a height slightly greater than that of each pocket, permit each different sample to be viewed before being removed from the pocket and taken home and kept by the consumer.
