  • Patent number: 8797138
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing one-time access to electronic locking devices for non-keyholders. The one-time access rights are delivered from a server to the electronic locking device in real-time, or in near-real time, over short and long-range wireless communication links in a manner that is secure and traceable. A handheld device is coupled with the electronic locking device via the short-range communication link, and is coupled with the server via a long-range wireless communication link.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 13, 2009
Date of Patent: August 5, 2014
Assignee: UTC Fire & Security Americas Corporation, Inc.
Inventors: Peter Christian Myers, Teri Lynné Briskey, Ryan DeVore, Rick Dunn, Jonathan Gordon Hays, Ali Hodroj, Adam Kuenzi, Wayne F. Larson, James Speir, Gregory Russell, Kim Vertner

  • Patent number: 6011199
Abstract: A method for producing a transformed fruit plant which produces ripened fruit with improved flavor as compared to ripened fruit produced by its parental plant, said method comprising;stably transforming explants of said parental plant with at least one DNA molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding alcohol dehydrogenase II (ADH2) or a functional portion thereof operably linked to a suitable promoter sequence, such that transformed fruit plants grown from said explants express said DNA molecule(s) in fruit tissue, andselecting a transformed fruit plant which produces ripened fruit with improved flavor as compared to ripened fruit produced by said parental plant.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5821398
Abstract: An isolated DNA molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding an inducible soft fruit promoter, particularly the alcohol dehydrogenase 2 promoter from tomato, is described. Isolated DNA molecules encoding the alcohol dehydrogenase 2 enzyme are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 1995

  • Patent number: 5585542
Abstract: The present invention provides an isolated DNA sequence which encodes at least part of the tomato enzyme endopolygalacturonase PG1 beta-subunit. This DNA sequence preferably encodes a polypeptide, the N-terminal amino acid sequence of which is: E-K-H-S-G-D-I-H. In other preferred forms of the invention the DNA sequence encodes a polypeptide which includes one of the following amino acid sequences: E-K-H-S-G or N-Y-G-Q-X-F-N-E-G. The DNA sequence of the present invention may be used to produce genetically engineered tomato plants with modified ripening characteristics.
