  • Patent number: 12282584
Abstract: Ways of protecting personally identifiable information stored in an onboard computing system of a vehicle allow improved data security of drivers. The system and method is configured to automatically trigger a deletion or encryption of personal data stored in the motor vehicle in response to an event or other information indicating that the vehicle is outside of the custody of the owner or some other loss of control event.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 18, 2023
Date of Patent: April 22, 2025
Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)
Inventors: Meredith Beveridge, James Stephan Harrison, Sumita T. Jonak

  • Patent number: 10504302
Abstract: A vehicle monitoring system with a camera is disclosed for creating video or still photo data at the time of a detected accident. The monitoring system monitors a vehicle parameter using a sensor contained within the vehicle. The system may use a processor contained within the vehicle to monitor the vehicle parameter. The system sets a parameter threshold. When the system detects, using the sensor, that the parameter has met the threshold it captures a video or still photo of an area surrounding the vehicle. The system then stores and/or transmits the video or still photo data to a remote server over a network.

  • Publication number: 20120022437
Abstract: A method for administering a therapeutic is provided. In various embodiments, the method includes providing a handheld dispensing apparatus comprising a housing defining a chamber, a material treatment module in material communication with the chamber, an outlet in material communication with the chamber, and a needle in material communication with the outlet for releasing the material from the housing. The method includes collecting a precursor material in the chamber, activating the material treatment module, treating the precursor material collected in the chamber with the material treatment module to create a treated material, positioning the needle in a body, and dispensing the treated material out of the apparatus into the body.

  • Publication number: 20050036945
Abstract: A resorbable medical implant is disclosed that includes one or more resorbable radiopaque markers. The resorbable radiopaque markers permit visualization of the location of the implant in a patient while reducing obstruction of tissue changes occurring in proximity to the implant. The resorbable radiopaque markers may include non-metallic and/or non-bone derived materials.
