Publication number: 20250028064Abstract: A method includes receiving over a network from one or more seismic sensors a data set characterizing a seismic event generating a seismic wave. Based on the data set, a time of arrival and intensity of the seismic wave at a predetermined location is calculated. The predetermined location has one or more mitigation devices. Whether the intensity of the seismic wave exceeds a predetermined seismic intensity threshold is determined. If the intensity of the seismic wave exceeds the predetermined seismic intensity threshold, the one or more mitigation devices are activated.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2024Publication date: January 23, 2025Applicant: RH2 ENGINEERING, INC.Inventors: James Swanson, Lee Tumbleson, Ryan Mills, Isaac Oquist

Publication number: 20240214319Abstract: Techniques for signaling, to a network controller, a connection state of a proxy for use by the network controller to correlate proxied-connections with application pairs for traffic optimization. In some examples, the techniques may include receiving, at a controller of a network, control plane information associated with a proxy that manages a proxied flow through the network. Based on the control plane information, the controller may determine that application traffic is flowing across the proxied flow between a first application and a second application. In this way, based at least in part on a policy associated with at least one of the first application or the second application, the controller may reconfigure a network element of the network for optimizing the application traffic flowing across the proxied flow.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2023Publication date: June 27, 2024Inventors: Alberto Rodriguez Natal, John A. Joyce, Saswat Praharaj, Timothy James Swanson, Lorand Jakab, Fabio R. Maino, Pradeep Kumar Kathail

Patent number: 11888752Abstract: Techniques for using application network requirements and/or telemetry information from a first networking technology to enhance operation of a second networking technology and optimize wide area network traffic are described herein. The techniques may include establishing a communication network for use by applications of a scalable application service platform, the communication network including a first networking technology and a second networking technology. In this way, a request to establish a connection for use by an application may be received by the first networking technology. The request may include an indication of a threshold service level of the connection. In response to the request, the first networking technology may determine whether the second networking technology is capable of hosting the connection.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2021Date of Patent: January 30, 2024Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Loránd Jakab, Alberto Rodriguez-Natal, Fabio R. Publication number: 20230261999Abstract: In one embodiment, a device of a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) receives, from a cloud-native application, contextual data for the cloud-native application that identifies microservices of the cloud-native application. The device translates the contextual data for the cloud-native application into a network policy for traffic in the SD-WAN associated with the cloud-native application. The device applies the network policy to a traffic flow in the SD-WAN between an endpoint and a particular microservice of the cloud-native application.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2023Publication date: August 17, 2023Inventors: Sridhar Subramanian, Fabio Rodolfo Maino, Alberto Rodriguez Natal, Vijoy Anand Pandey, Edward A. Warnicke, John Andrew Joyce, Timothy James Swanson, Loránd Jakab

Patent number: 11608037Abstract: A low-profile trailer jack reduces the height of the jack above the trailer a-frame by over 50% eliminating pickup tailgate interference when lowered by a vehicle operator. This is accomplished using a two-stage concentric lead screw design rather than a single screw as described in prior art. The two-stage design also allows for increased lowering and raising speed of the jack foot by using the first stage, which is a larger outer screw with larger pitch, generating a faster speed when no load is present. The second stage inner screw is engaged when a load is present and a slower speed with greater mechanical advantage is required.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2022Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Inventor: Neil James Swanson

Patent number: 11148788Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a curved planar wingtip for a straight wing and a curved planar wingtip for a swept wing of an aircraft. The curved planar wingtips include a member that extends from the end of the wing in a direction aft of the wing trailing edge while remaining substantially planar with the wing. The curved planar wingtips curve continuously from leading and trailing edges of the wing to form a tip located aft of the wing. Other embodiments of the curved planar wingtip are configured for a horizontal or vertical tail. Yet another embodiment includes a curved wingtip that extends aft of a trailing edge of the wing by a distance greater than the curved wingtip extends above a top surface of the wing.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2017Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: Textron Innovation, Inc.Inventor: David James Swanson
