Abstract: A release mechanism especially but not exclusively for use in a prosthetic hand. The release mechanism includes a retainer and a release pin held within the retainer so as to be moveable between an engagement position and a release position. The retainer is provided with portions which engage the release pin to restrain it to movement between the engagement position and the release position. The portions include ball bearings to reduce the friction between the retainer and the release pin. Also, a prosthetic hand having such a release mechanism is provided so that the user can release the hand if it becomes jammed.

Abstract: A rotary drive member drives a driven member. A ring surrounding the driven member has two cam recesses containing lock members between cam surfaces of cam recesses and the ring. Each recess accommodates an associated lock member at different locations where the recess is shallower. Driving the driven member is permitted in a given rotation relative to the ring, but each lock member inhibits rotation of the driven member in the opposite sense. The recesses extend in opposite directions. Coupling between the driven members is free-play whereby reversal in the rotation disengages members and reengages. Protuberances extending into cam recesses retain a lock member associated with one recess at the deeper location permitting movement of the other lock member towards the shallower location. Upon reversal of the rotation, the protuberances retain another lock member at the deeper location permitting movement of one lock member.

Abstract: A system and method of generating intelligent alerts based on updatable rules, filters, or algorithms, the method includes receiving one or more device status messages from sensors monitoring devices of a monitored system, determining an alert priority for each of the one or more device status messages, storing the alert priority, the respective device status message, and associated metadata in a data store, providing an alert message to an interactive user interface, the alert message indicating the alert priority, monitoring a user's interaction with the alert message, classifying the user's interaction with the alert message, storing the user's interaction correlated with the corresponding alert message in a data store, analyzing the user's interaction to develop correlations between a cause of respective device status message, its associated data, and the user's interaction, and updating a data store with the correlation. A system and non-transitory computer readable medium are also disclosed.

Abstract: Some embodiments relate to dimmer control circuitry for LED lighting, comprising: phase control circuitry to control the supply of voltage to at least one LED load, wherein the phase control circuitry comprises an AC switch to selectively provide voltage to the LED load for a first portion of a half cycle of an AC supply voltage, and a drive component to drive the AC switch so that the AC switch remains on for the first portion of the half cycle; and load switching circuitry to couple a dissipative load to an output of the AC switch during a second portion of the half cycle, wherein the second portion overlaps with the first portion.

The communication gateways each have a dynamic module naming list to enable the communication gateway to determine a route to direct a message to an appropriate recipient module using the recipient module's local communication gateway.
