Abstract: A disposable medical waste bag having layers of polyethylene film has an open top and a seal at the bottom of the bag. The bag is filled to a desired level with medical waste and is sealed by closing off the top of the bag by twisting. After the top of the bag has been twisted and a twist is formed, the twist is bent over on itself and an adhesive tape located at a location on the outside of the bag is used to tape the twist to itself, thereby thoroughly sealing the bag. A normally-closed valve is provided on the bag and is removably engagable with a coupler that is used in conjunction with the hose of a central vacuum system of a medical facility such as a hospital. After the bag has been sealed such as by taping, the central vacuum system vacuums or sucks out excess air sealed within the bag thereby substantially decreasing the size of the bag. The seal located at the bottom are sealed bars of thermosealable polymer material having a plurality of triangular air pockets extending between the bars.

Abstract: A transverse seal bar produces triangular air pockets between straight, parallel transverse seals. providing stress supports as well as rigidity to the seal The seal is fail-proof and is applied to plastic or other materials laminated to plastic such as; aluminum, paper or metallized materials. The seal bar is adaptable to commercial bag seal machines or other such commercial sealing machines.

Abstract: A container that will contain contaminated surgical garments is closed after the container is filled to a recommended level, using a closure system that causes the container to become air tight and also will not allow vapors or gases to escape or enter. There is a one way valve for air to be vacuumed from the container but not to return. All the air will be vacuumed from the container making it a small manageable waste package ready for storage or incineration.

Abstract: A system for containing sharps and infectious medical wastes generated by Hospitals and all health care facilities comprises a master barier container, a sharps container and a support holder/stand. The system is designed to form a mobile, all in one, container that in turn allows safe disposing and containing of infectious medical wastes, sharp or non sharp.

The Infectious/Medical Waste Containment Carrier consists of three integral functional components:1. A coextruded polyethylene tube with walls of a given thickness.2. A closure pouch with a self-contained tie cord.3. A bottom seal of dual thermo-sealed bars with enforced cross members and air pockets.Once the bottom seal is applied to the coextruded polyethylene tube the tube becomes a bottom closed container. When the pouch is applied at a specific position located in the center and near the top of the containment carrier and the bottom and top are serrated, the containment carrier is constructed to serve as a depository for infectious/medical waste.
