  • Patent number: 11680381
Abstract: A hydraulic system for controlling an implement on a work machine may include a hydraulic reservoir, a hydraulic pump in fluid communication with the reservoir, a central valve in fluid communication with the pump and configured for controlling the implement, a load sense pressure relief system, and a controller. The controller may be configured for controlling the central valve and the load sense pressure relief system and selecting between operating the hydraulic system at a first pressure and a second pressure based on a factor relating to implement position.

Date of Patent: June 20, 2023
Assignee: Caterpillar Underground Mining Pty. Ltd.
Inventors: Riley A. Albers, David R. Evans, William N. O'Neill, Jason P. Wigg, Jeffrey K. Berry, James T. Ferrier
  • Patent number: 11661723
Abstract: A hydraulic system for controlling an implement on a work machine may include a hydraulic reservoir, a hydraulic pump in fluid communication with the reservoir, a central valve in fluid communication with the pump and configured for controlling the implement, a pressure relief system arranged in fluid communication with the hydraulic pump and the central valve, and a controller. The controller may be configured for controlling the hydraulic pump, the central valve and the pressure relief system and selecting between operating the hydraulic system at a first pressure and a second pressure based on a factor relating to implement position.

  • Patent number: 6208925
Abstract: A simplified method and system for determining a loading condition on a powertrain of a machine resulting from a loading condition on an implement thereof. The method includes the steps of inputting a predetermined plurality of parameter signals representative of the loading condition on the implement into an implement loading model to determine a plurality of implement loading modeled values as a function of the inputted loading parameter signals and inputting the implement loading modeled values into a kinematic linkage model to determine a plurality of modeled linkage loading values as a function of the inputted implement loading modeled values and a plurality of known linkage parameter values and inputting the modeled linkage loading values into a machine powertrain loading model to determine a plurality of powertrain loading modeled values indicative of the loading condition on the powertrain.
