  • Patent number: 7682620
Abstract: The invention relates to cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising an oil-containing biliquid foam dispersed in a salt-containing aqueous phase, in which the aqueous phase, having a pH of less than about 7, is gelled by a polymeric sulfonic acid. A particularly preferred gellant is ammonium poly(acryldimethyltauramide-co-vinylformamide). Unlike many other types of gels, these gels are stable at an acid pH in the presence of substantial amounts of electrolytes, and therefore are useful in delivering acidic active components.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 26, 2001
Date of Patent: March 23, 2010
    Assignee: Color Access, Inc.
Inventors: Jules Zecchino, Michelle Matathia, E. Althea Knight, James T. Harrison
  • Publication number: 20100003295
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of exfoliating and warming the skin comprising the steps of topically applying a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition. The composition comprises a physical exfoliating system of at least three insoluble particles of different materials, a heat generating agent and a silicone component.

  • Publication number: 20080188560
Abstract: A composition for topical application to the skin comprising at least one unsolubilized oil-soluble hydrophobic cooling ingredient having a heat of fusion above 100 J/g and a melting point substantially near body temperature, a polymeric emulsifier in which the cooling ingredient is not soluble, and a cosmetically acceptable carrier.
