  • Patent number: 11968700
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for providing network access services to mobile users via mobile terminals over a satellite system. In embodiments, dynamic multiplexing of traffic from fixed terminals and mobile users on the same satellite beam can take advantage of statistical multiplexing of large numbers of users and on different usage patterns between fixed terminals and mobile users. In embodiments, quality-of-service (QoS) is controlled for mobile devices at a per-user level. Mobile users may be provisioned on the satellite system according to a set of traffic policies based on their service level agreement (SLA). System resources of the satellite may be allocated to mobile users based on the demand of each mobile user and the set of traffic polices associated with each mobile user, regardless of which mobile terminal is used to access the system.

  • Publication number: 20140279131
Abstract: Techniques for operating a marketplace service to manage on-line marketplaces so as to limit access to information regarding distribution of items (e.g., sales of goods/services). The marketplace service may manage multiple on-line marketplaces, with each on-line marketplace enabling a user to distribute to other users of that on-line marketplace information regarding items that the user has made available for distribution to the other users with access to that marketplace. In some embodiments, an on-line marketplace may be associated with a relationship external to the marketplace service, and the marketplace service may limit access to the on-line marketplace only to users who share that relationship. These embodiments may therefore enable users to exclusively distribute, via the service, information regarding a sale of goods or services to users who have a relationship external to the marketplace service, thereby limiting how widely information regarding the sale is distributed.

  • Patent number: 8402038
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for allocating input data. The method includes receiving (1) the input data comprising source data and driver data, and (2) one or more user-specified parameters for allocating the input data. The method includes configuring a set of rule metadata based on the one or more user-specified parameters. The method also includes filtering at least one of the source data or the driver data based on the rule metadata to generate at least one of filtered source data or filtered driver data. The method further includes processing at least one of the filtered source data or the filtered driver data to generate target data and storing at least one of the filtered source data, the filtered driver data or the target data in separate operational tables in a database.
