    Abstract: A computer system displays a representation of a field of view of the one or more cameras, including a representation of a portion of a three-dimensional physical environment that is in the field of view of the one or more cameras. The computer system receives a request to add a first virtual effect to the displayed representation of the field of view of the one or more cameras. In response to receiving the request to add the first virtual effect to the displayed representation of the field of view of the one or more cameras and in accordance with a determination that the first virtual effect requires a scan of the physical environment, the computer system initiates a scan of the physical environment to detect one or more features of the physical environment and displays a user interface that indicates a progress of the scan of the physical environment.

    Abstract: A component for adjusting the capacity of a network link between the component and another component is disclosed. The component receives a first data signal and transmits across forward channels of the network link a plurality of second data signals carrying the data of the first data signal and control information for a plurality of third data signals. The component further receives the plurality of third data signals across respective return channels, these third data signals carrying control information for the plurality of second data signals. The control information includes status information for less than a maximum number of the forward channels, and the status information is out of phase within each of the return channels in respect of the forward channels to which the status information relates. The component is responsive to this status information to adjust the capacity of the network link.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for in-situ treatment of soil and groundwater contaminated with organic pollutants. The process involves defining the nature and extent of the contamination; determining the hydrology and geology of the contaminated area; determining the volume and concentration of a reactive solution required to effect treatment of the contaminated area; injecting the reactive solution into one or more injectors that are inserted into the ground, sealed and positioned so as to assure flow of the reactive solution through the contaminated area; allowing the reactive solution to flow through the contaminated area thereby reacting chemically with the contaminants contained within the contaminated area; and determining when the treatment is complete by monitoring by-products of the chemical reaction. Preferably, the reactive solution is an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide and metallic salts.

Disc rotation is effected by creating unbalanced frictional forces between the sealing surfaces during valve operation.     Abstract: A collapsible car rack system for use in intermodal containers wherein each car rack is capable of carrying two automobiles. Each rack is configured so that two racks completely fill a standard 40 ft. intermodal container and each rack is also fitted with a dunnage device in order to extend the size of the rack to fill a standard 45 ft. intermodal container. Each rack is equipped with push plates and pulling eyes so that the loaded racks may be inserted into, and withdrawn from a standard intermodal container with a forklift. In use, each rack will accommodate two automobiles the first of which is driven onto the rack in a collapsed condition and after erecting a top portion of the rack with a forklift and securing by vertical support members, a second automobile is driven onto the lower portion of each rack. The erect rack, loaded with two automobiles is of a suitable size to be loaded into a standard intermodal container with a forklift.

    Abstract: An improved compression hip screw system including a lag screw having a first end with external threads insertable into the proximal end of a femur head and broken fragments thereof and having a second end with an axial bore; a barrel/side plate having a plate-like member attachable at its distal end to a femur and having a barrel at its proximal end for receiving the second end of the lag screw; a compression screw within the barrel and extending into the bore of the lag screw, a supplemental set screw threaded through the barrel/side plate to secure the compression screw in a fixed position with respect to the barrel/side plate; and a coupling device joining the lag screw and compression screw to allow a telescoping motion between the lag screw and the compression screw in the event of axial movement of the broken fragment and lag screw with respect to the proximal end of the femur and the barrel/side plate.
