  • Publication number: 20210084393
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a railcar monitoring system for monitoring one or more conditions associated with a railcar comprises a railcar controller and one or more sensors disposed throughout the railcar and communicably coupled to the railcar controller. The railcar controller is configured to exchange data with the one or more sensors and transmit data from the one or more sensors to a remote location. An amount of data exchanged between the railcar controller and the one or more sensors is controlled based on a railcar context. The railcar context is based on a location and/or activity associated with the railcar.

  • Publication number: 20210053595
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a load cell for determining a weight of a large object comprises a base plate comprising at least one recessed opening, a bulk metallic glass plug disposed in the at least one recessed opening of the base plate, and a top plate positioned above the base plate. A portion of the top plate is supported by the bulk metallic glass plug. The load cell further comprises a micro strain sensor coupled to the bulk metallic glass plug. The micro strain sensor is operable to determine a change in micro strain on the bulk metallic glass plug. The bulk metallic glass plug extends to a height where the top plate does not contact the base plate.

  • Publication number: 20210053593
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a hatch cover for an opening in a container comprises a body comprising a plate member for covering the opening in the container, a seal on the underside of the body for sealing the body to the container, and one or more pressure sensors disposed between the seal and the body. The one or more pressure sensors are operable to detect a pressure between the body and the container and are communicably coupled to a hatch status device operable to detect a change in pressure between the body and the container. Some embodiments may include a fill level sensor.

  • Publication number: 20170156914
Abstract: Representative implementations of devices and techniques provide an under-the-arm support for a sling device. The under-the-arm support includes a strap portion that is wrapped around a portion of a user's torso, including under the user's arm. One or more slide mechanisms are associated with the strap portion. The slide mechanism(s) are slideably coupled to a shoulder strap of the sling device, and have freedom to move with respect to the shoulder strap.

  • Patent number: 7760637
Abstract: An interface between a high speed data signal input and multiple lower speed data signal outputs is described. In one preferred embodiment, the interface comprises a receiver core for separating the high speed data signal into multiple independent channels with each channel having a different priority; an Interface Logic Unit comprising multiple interface logic subunits each for processing one of the multiple independent channels. Each of the interface logic subunits includes a separator for separating the individual channel into multiple intermediate signals; and feedback device for providing feedback to the receiver core regarding a condition of one or more of the multiple intermediate signals. The interface further includes multiple multiplexer with each receiving one of the multiple intermediate signals and multiplexing the received intermediate signals to create one of the multiple lower speed data signals.

  • Patent number: 7693081
Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium for integrated IP DSLAM test monitor that comprises monitoring at least one data stream, collecting measurements of the at least one data stream, broadcasting the collected measurements to a remote monitoring station, analyzing the monitored at least one data stream by the remote monitoring station, identifying a fault signature from the analyzed at least one data stream, and sending an alert of the identified fault signature so that actions may be take to isolate and repair the fault.

  • Publication number: 20070081471
Abstract: An apparatus and method for analyzing data streams in a data transmission environment. In one embodiment, the method involves: capturing data from at least one data stream at two or more taps associated with a system under test (SUT); filtering the captured data to extract data packets belonging to one or more data types; analyzing extracted data packets of each data type using packet header and payload information of the extracted data packets; and outputting results obtained from analyzing the extracted data packets.

  • Publication number: 20060247921
Abstract: An electronic device (300) for speech dialog includes functions that receive (305, 105) a speech phrase that comprises a request phrase that includes an instantiated variable (215), generate (335, 115) pitch and voicing characteristics (315) of the instantiated variable, and performs voice recognition (319, 125) of the instantiated variable to determine a most likely set of acoustic states (235). The electronic device may generate (335, 140) a synthesized value of the instantiated variable using the most likely set of acoustic states and the pitch and voicing characteristics of the instantiated variable. The electronic device may use a table of previously entered values of variables that have been determined to be unique, and in which the values are associated with a most likely set of acoustic states and the pitch and voicing characteristics determined at the receipt of each value to disambiguate (425, 430) a newly received instantiated variable.

  • Patent number: 5857173
Abstract: Upon selection of an expression for pronunciation training, a look-up operation is performed in a speaker database (15) to obtain a predetermined model for comparison with a voice of a user received at an input (11). A speech modeling element models speech of a native speaker. The voice input is applied to the modeling element (102-107) and an analysis is carried out of the comparison, in correlation and in duration, between a phoneme or sub-word of the input and a phoneme or sub-word of the native speaker to provide a score, including a score for the correlation and a score for the duration. The score is analyzed with respect to a score for a predetermined speaker in an analysis element (40). An indicator device (16) coupled to the output of the analysis element indicates the result in a graphical illustration. A tracking tool indicates state of progress of the voice of the speaker.
