  • Publication number: 20100072801
Abstract: A swiveling seat comprises a seat bottom, a swivel mechanism and a swivel resistance system. The swivel mechanism allows the seat bottom to rotate at least partially around a first axis of rotation. The swivel resistance system may include a first member that rotates with the swivel mechanism, a second member that is fixedly positioned relative to the swiveling of the swivel mechanism and an operator adjustable resistance control that is operated by the vehicle operator to bias the second member into the first member so as to vary the resistance required to swivel the operator's seat.

  • Publication number: 20080129445
Abstract: A supplemental control system for a materials handling vehicle comprises a wearable control device, and a corresponding receiver on the materials handling vehicle. The wearable control device is donned by an operator interacting with the materials handling vehicle, and comprises a wireless transmitter and a travel control communicably coupled to the wireless transmitter. Actuation of the travel control causes the wireless transmitter to transmit a first type signal designating a request to advance the vehicle in a first direction. The receiver is supported by the vehicle for receiving transmissions from the wireless transmitter. A traction control of the vehicle is responsive to a receipt of the first type signal by the receiver to cause the vehicle to advance.

  • Patent number: 7374004
Abstract: An industrial vehicle includes a battery that is shaped to expand or otherwise modify the space available within an operator's compartment. As a result, operator accommodations may be satisfied within the space requirements of the vehicle. The present invention further provides an industrial vehicle having an adjustable feature, such as a repositionable operator's seat and/or repositionable control element or operator control surface, and a shaped battery that enables or otherwise corresponds with the repositioning capability of the adjustable feature.

  • Patent number: 7306280
Abstract: An overhead guard comprises a guard frame and a plurality of guard members. The guard frame is coupled to a suitable support structure of a materials handling vehicle so as to extend generally over at least a portion of an operator's compartment of the vehicle. The guard frame is oriented at an angle having a magnitude that is at least five degrees relative to the horizontal, and is angled upward towards a load handling assembly of the vehicle, at least in an area of the guard situated between a normal vehicle operating position and the load handling assembly. The plurality of guard members are supported by the guard frame at least within an area generally over the operator's compartment of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6257645
Abstract: Rigid floor panels define side edge channels which receive ribs formed on side edges of elastic mats so that the mats can be secured quickly to a floor panel, preferably without the need for adhesives, by engagement of the ribs with the channels. Pull tabs are formed on the mats to further secure the mats to the floor panels by extension through corresponding holes passing through the floor panels. Such pull tabs or some adhesive may be necessary for further securing the mats to the floor panels particularly when the floorboard is formed as two pieces and when the channels are one-sided. The shape and sizing of the ribs are such that they define matted floor corner edges giving the benefits of prior art matted floorboards but with substantially extended life expectancy.
