  • Patent number: 5927548
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing an alcohol-glycerine disinfecting gel or liquid for use by doctors and nurses. The dispenser consists of a main housing which mounts a pumping mechanism for pumping out an alcohol-glycerine disinfecting gel from a replaceable, disposable supply-cartridge releasably mounted in the main housing. Since the main housing is small enough to fit within a person's hand, the doctor or nurse may dispense the contents of an alcohol-glycerine disinfecting gel simply by squeezing the two parts together. The dispensing of the gel is applied directly onto the fingers of the same hand that has squeezed the main housing to have caused such dispensing to occur. Owing to the small size of the main housing, the dispenser of the invention may be worn on-the-person, such as by the waist-belt.

  • Patent number: 4588202
Abstract: A cart for transporting computer instruments, and the like, from one location to another in which the rear rollers of the cart are mounted by torsion bars to decrease the likelihood of damage to the parts being transported. In one embodiment of the invention, the torsion bars are supported by connecting blocks that allow relative sliding movement of the two rollers to increase and the decrease the distance between the rollers to adapt the cart to the particular size and weight of the item being transported. In another embodiment of the invention, the handle portion of the cart is divided into two section pivotable relative to each other and pivotally connected to the main supporting frame of the cart for folding and collapsing the cart during nonuse.

  • Patent number: 4576389
Abstract: A cart with extensible axles for transporting shock sensitive loads, computers, luggage and the like, which cart is provided with a wheel base that is adjustable to fit the various sizes and weights of the loads supported on the cart. In a first embodiment, the wheel base is adjustable via a hollow tube having a pair of oppositely-disposed slots formed at the ends of the tube. Each axle of the cart has a J-shaped hook at its end remote from the wheel it carries, which hook rides in the slot disposed on the opposite end of the tube. The diameter of the tube is such that the two axles can pass only by the application of force to overcome the friction caused by the oppositely-moving snug-fitting axles. The slots are arranged on the bottom circumferential portion of the tube and are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube, but are spaced angularly with respect to each other about the outer circumference of the tube to aid in the frictional holding of the axles upon extension and retraction.
