  • Patent number: 10502658
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a self-aligning exhaust sensor joint. In one example, a system may include a tapered pipe having a flange at its wider end; a nut having a head, an externally threaded bottom, and a tapered inner cavity that is adapted to fit around the tapered pipe; and a boss having a threaded inner cavity that is adapted to engage with the threaded bottom of the nut and having an engagement cavity for receiving the flange. By inserting the flange into the engagement cavity, mating the externally threaded bottom of the nut with the threaded inner cavity of the boss, and torquing the nut until a bottom surface of the externally threaded bottom pushes against the flange, a seal may be formed between the tapered pipe and the boss.

  • Patent number: 9988002
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for an integrated bracket for securely retaining one or more cables of a harness to a vehicle body. In one example design, the integrated bracket may include a first plate with an opening to receive a fastener to securely attach the bracket to the vehicle body; an inlet gate coupled to the first plate; a second plate coupled and angled to the first plate; a protection shield extending from the first plate; and an exit gate attached to the second plate, each gate having an extending arm pair. In one example, by routing the cables of the harness through the bracket, and securely retaining the cables using clamps on the inlet and outlet gates, the bracket provides a simplified system for securely attaching the harness to the engine, thereby minimizing unnecessary cable movement, while reducing stresses exerted on the harness.

  • Patent number: 7591314
Abstract: Methods and devices for sensing operating conditions associated with downhole, non-drilling operations, including, fishing and retrieval operations as well as underreaming or casing cutting operations and the like. A condition sensing device is used to measure downhole operating parameters, including, for example, torque, tension, compression, direction of rotation and rate of rotation. The operating parameter information is then used to perform the downhole operation more effectively.

  • Patent number: 6898894
Abstract: A fishing jig system with an interchangeable jig head is disclosed for permitting a variety of jig heads with different configurations and functions to be used with a single jig hook and avoid having to remove the jig hook from a fishing line to reconfigure the fishing jig. The jig system includes a hook having a shank portion and an eye portion, with the shank portion and the eye portion meeting at a juncture. A modular mounting member is mounted on the hook at the juncture for removably receiving a fishing accessory. A fishing accessory, such as a jig head, is removably mounted on the modular mounting member, and the fishing accessory has a recess formed therein for slidably receiving at least a portion of the modular mounting member such that the accessory may be removed and replaced without removing the jig hook from the fishing line.

  • Patent number: 6131675
Abstract: A combination milling and drilling bit which can be converted from a first type of cutting operation to a second type of cutting operation by hydraulically moving a plurality of movable blades to extend beyond a plurality of fixed blades. The fixed blades are dressed with cutting inserts suitable for the first type of cutting operation, while the movable blades are dressed with cutting inserts suitable for the second type of cutting operation.

  • Patent number: 5979571
Abstract: A combination metal milling and earth drilling tool, for use in performing a single trip kickoff from a casing in a well bore. The combination milling and drilling tool has a first, relatively more durable cutting structure, such as tungsten carbide, and a second, relatively harder cutting structure, such as polycrystalline diamond. The more durable first cutting structure is better suited for milling metal casing, while the harder second cutting structure is better suited for drilling through a subterranean formation, especially a rock formation. The first cutting structure is positioned outwardly relative to the second cutting structure, so that the first cutting structure will mill through the metal casing while shielding the second cutting structure from contact with the casing. The first cutting structure can wear away while milling through the casing and upon initial contact with the rock formation, thereby exposing the second cutting structure to contact with the rock formation.

  • Patent number: 4452021
Abstract: A suspended ceiling system or wall system employing clip means for coupling a decorative molding system thereto, that, in turn, supports a decorative plaque system. The preferred clip means is fabricated to permit the semi-permanent attachment of individual clips to a suspended grid TEE system and contains a clip leg with extruded wands angling therefrom for frictionally coupling decorative molding thereto. Alternative clip means are also disclosed wherein various forms of spring and/or dove-tail coupling are employed for affixing the clips to the grid TEE system and the molding system.

  • Patent number: 4451781
Abstract: A moisture tester for measuring the total moisture content of high moisture feed products such as corn, silage and cut hay including a probe or sensor having spaced apart electrodes in contact with the product. A VCO is coupled to the electrodes for producing a variable frequency signal proportional to the resistance across the electrodes. A time base signal generator produces a relatively slow fixed frequency time base signal. A gate timer produces latch and reset signals from the time base signal for use in a BCD counter incorporating latch, multiplex and BCD counter portions. The resulting output from the BCD counter drives a display device to provide the user with a relative indication of the amount of moisture over a range of moistures in the feed product. Also disclosed are several types of probes. One flat plate type includes coaxially-mounted annular electrodes for measuring the moisture of newly cut hay.
