Abstract: A portlight assembly for installation in an opening in a wall of a vessel includes an outer frame having a flange and a cylindrical wall portion extending from the flange, with the flange overlying a portion of the outer surface of the vessel wall surrounding the opening and the cylindrical wall portion extending through the opening, a window mounted to the outer frame. It further includes an inner securing ring threadedly received onto a threaded section of the cylindrical wall portion and overlying a portion of the inner surface of the vessel wall. The outer frame includes an initial attachment structure for holding the outer frame in place within the vessel wall opening until the inner securing ring is threaded onto the cylindrical wall portion.

Abstract: A window assembly for a vessel is disclosed having a frame, a window mounted within the frame with one surface of the window facing in an outward direction and another surface facing in an inward direction, with the assembly further including a pivotally movable cover extending over at least a substantial portion of the inward facing surface of the window and being selectively positionable for pivotal movement about a pivot axis between one position substantially blocking vision to the window and another position permitting generally unobstructed vision through the window.

Abstract: A non-linear propulsion and energy conversion system, in one embodiment, includes an impulse drive having a frame with inner and outer pairs of driving members movable relative to the frame. Guides in the form of rails are provided for supporting the driving members so that they move along a path confined by the rails when kinetic energy is provided thereto. Solenoid switches are located at each end of the frame and are operable to cause the outer driving members to move linearly along the rails in opposite directions towards each other. At least one of the inner members has a pair of rotatable discs mounted thereon which rotate upon interaction with one of the outer members. The other inner member interacts with the other outer member in a manner so that it transmutes a greater portion of the translational kinetic energy and linear momentum applied thereto by the outer member into linear motion.
