  • Patent number: 11453981
Abstract: A rail tie plate retaining workhead is provided for use in conjunction with a rail tie replacement machine moving along a railroad track having a pair of rails. The workhead includes a workhead frame configured for movement along the track relative to the rail tie replacement machine, and a pair of plate retaining frames, each frame associated with a respective one of the rails, and being connected to the workhead frame. Each plate retaining frame has at least one rail guide wheel connected to the retaining frame using a fluid powered cylinder, the wheels vertically reciprocating between an extended position, in which the workhead is raised to a travel position, and a retracted position, in which the workhead is lowered to a working position in operational relationship with at least one targeted rail tie plate.

  • Publication number: 20090099900
Abstract: The present invention provides for an image display device, capable of producing a simulated 3-D image, integrated with a customer demographic data collection system that gathers user information by using video mining software and an advertising system that communicates the desired message to the user. The present invention allows for immediate, near real-time data collection for interpretive analysis while simultaneously delivering messages through an innovative advertising medium. The image display device allows for user interaction that can be detected via a sensor and interpreted via an information processing device. Customer demographic data collected include, but not limited to, age range, gender, ethnicity, number of users, time spent waiting in queue, number of impressions, time of impressions, number of touch screen hits, and number of image hits.

  • Patent number: 7001033
Abstract: An image display device includes a case with an opening, a luminous source image display displaying a first image, and a focusing element. The focusing element is positioned within the case, and includes a concave mirror and a mirror supporter that supports the concave mirror. The mirror supporter includes a mirror cradle. The mirror screen is mounted on the arms of the mirror cradle. The mirror cradle includes a buffering pad at the tip of each arm, and the buffering pad includes adhesive parts on both surfaces. The tip of the arms of the mirror cradle is attached to the back of the mirror screen, and the attachment is achieved with a surface contact. The mounting holes on the top and bottom plates are oblong. The oblong mounting holes are adapted to adjust the mounting position of the mirror screen of the image display device.

  • Patent number: 6938519
Abstract: A die assembly adapted to be attached to one of a wrench first arm and a wrench second arm. The die assembly includes a die having a pipe facing front spaced apart from but parallel to the pipe longitudinal axis, a wrench facing rear, and two spaced apart opposed sides, each connected to the die front and die rear. The die is thick on one side and thin on the other side so that the die facing front has a face that recedes from the pipe from one edge to the other edge so that contact between the die facing front varies depending upon the diameter of the pipe. The die rear also has a convex curve so that the die has a thick mid section.

  • Patent number: 6446738
Abstract: A drill comprising a frame supported for movement over the ground in a forward propel direction and a rearward propel direction, a mast mounted on the frame in a generally vertical position, and a drill head moveable up and down the mast. The drill head is selectively engageable with the upper end of a drill pipe so that the drill pipe is raised and lowered out of and into the ground when the drill head moves up and down the mast. The drill further includes a crawler drive for moving the drill in the forward propel direction, a motor for moving the drill head to cause drilling, and an operator's cab positioned on the frame adjacent the mast. The cab includes a first console and a second console spaced from the first console, controls on the first console for operating the forward propel drive, and controls on the second console for operating the drill head motor.

  • Patent number: 6321859
Abstract: A roller is designed for adaptation into a blasthole drill and is specifically designed for use in conjunction with a rotary carriage to allow the carriage to move up and down a blasthole drill mast as needed. The roller is made of a substantially non-deformable material combined with a deformable material. Under light loads, the deformable material contacts and supports the load to provide enhanced operation of the roller. Under heavy loads, the deformable material advantageously deforms to a point which allows the substantially non-deformable material and deformable material to contact and cooperatively support the load.

  • Patent number: 5339919
Abstract: A boarding ladder assembly for mounting a boarding ladder on a support for movement between raised storage and lowered boarding positions. The assembly includes a guide structure that has first and second guide tracks mounted in spaced diverging angular orientation relative to each other and first and second guide track followers that are mounted therein for changing the angular orientation of the boarding ladder as it is raised and lowered. A counterweight has an actual weight greater than the weight of the ladder. A linkage is connected between the counterweight and ladder at a lift angle that varies as the ladder is raised and lowered to cause the counterweight to exert an actual lifting force that is sufficient to overcome the ladder weight when the ladder is in a raised position and that is less than the weight of the ladder when the ladder is in its lowered boarding position to automatically maintain the ladder in either position without the need for a latching mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4403510
Abstract: In a new method and apparatus for ultrasonic inspection of objects each inspection device of the apparatus is fed by gravity with a supply of a liquid coupling medium, from which the device produces a flowing liquid column that is directed at the object. The device mounts a focusing ultrasonic transducer that generates an ultrasonic beam in the liquid focused at a downstream point not less than about 5 cm from the oscillation generating surface. The external envelope of the ultrasonic beam is contained wholly within the external envelope of the liquid stream with a separation between them at least until the object is impinged by the liquid column. The liquid feed is made as non-turbulent and entrained bubble-free as possible to avoid the generation of unwanted background noise and spurious signals. The increase in distance through which inspection can be effected simplifies the application of the method to testing pipe wall and laminar thickness and to the testing of bulky bodies such as aeroplane wings.

  • Patent number: 4087040
Abstract: A molded container for a plurality of fragile articles (e.g. eggs) is provided which includes a tray section having a plurality of pockets arranged in elongated substantially parallel rows. Disposed intermediate adjacent rows of pockets are a plurality of upwardly extending hollow posts. Each of a predetermined number of the posts has a plurality of elongated wall panels. The opposite elongated upright edges of each wall panel are hingedly connected to corresponding edges of adjacent wall panels whereby the panel or panels is yieldable about the hingedly connected edges thereof when a predetermined external transverse force is applied thereto. The lower portion of each wall panel forms a segment of a surface defining an adjacent pocket.
