Patent number: 11781677Abstract: A bracket holds a rigid or flexible tube during the pouring of a concrete slab. The bracket has a base and a housing connected to the base. The tube curves around a first tube support on the housing before passing through an opening in the bottom of the housing. The tube and any members inside the tube are cut off so they end inside the housing and are then covered by a housing cap. The base is fastened to a form for the concrete slab. The height of the housing relative to the base is adjusted to place the cap at the planned surface of the concrete slab. After the concrete slab is formed the cap is removed and the cut members inside the housing are connected to other members or devices.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2021Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: RELIANCE WORLDWIDE CORPORATIONInventors: James W. Cosley, Dennis L. Hart, Virgil O'Neil

Patent number: 11698158Abstract: An assembly creates annular voids in concrete around the distal end of cylindrical tubes. A cap has a flat top and a cylindrical, depending skirt. An annular, foam plug extends between the inside of the skirt and the outer diameter of the tube. The plug has an undeformed inner diameter smaller than an outer diameter of the tube to create an interference fit around the tube and keep concrete out when the cap is on the end of the tube. The plug has a radial thickness of 0.3 to 1 inch, and has an axial length of 1 to 3 inches, with a bottom of the plug located at a bottom of the skirt. The cap is glued to the end of the tube for pressure testing. After the tube is entrained in concrete, the cap and plug are removed to leave a void in the concrete surface.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2022Date of Patent: July 11, 2023Assignee: RELIANCE WORLDWIDE CORPORATIONInventors: Virgil O'Neil, Dennis L. Hart, Randy Borman, Ryan Miller, James W. Cosley

Patent number: 11662049Abstract: A pipeline has a fitting with a wedge-shaped plug pressed into a wedge-shaped fitting recess by a retaining ring to block flow through the fitting for pressure testing. The plug has an extractor plate fastened to the plug through a center of the retaining ring so the retaining ring can rotate relative to the plug and extractor plate. But the extractor plate is a predetermined maximum distance from the plug and is larger than the center opening of the retaining ring to captivate the retaining ring between the plug and extractor plate. That limits the retaining ring motion along the port's axis. Threading engagement between the retaining ring and port allow the retaining ring to push the plug into the fitting in a first rotation direction while rotation in the opposite direction allows the retaining ring to push the extractor plate and the connected plug out of the fitting.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2021Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: RELIANCE WORLDWIDE CORPORATIONInventors: James W. Cosley, Jacob T. Chase

Patent number: 11661735Abstract: A tubular fire stop assembly for a poured concrete structure defines at least a portion of a passage through the structure during use. The assembly has a base with a tubular sleeve, both encircling and extending along the passage. A fire ring is connected to the base and has a plate with a central opening encircling the passage. An intumescent ring has inner and outer sidewalls and opposing top and bottom walls. The intumescent ring is inside the base, encircles the passage and rests on the fire ring plate. A woven, galvanized wire mesh casing extends along the inner and outer sidewalls and the top wall of the intumescent ring.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2021Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: RELIANCE WORLDWIDE CORPORATIONInventor: James W. Patent number: 11186986Abstract: A sleeve assembly for poured concrete decks has a tubular sleeve connected to a base flange by stiffeners or an optional base wall. An intumescent ring and fire ring plate are fastened to the base flange. The stiffeners and optional base wall are configured so concrete passes between the stiffeners to entrain a fire ring plate and ring of intumescent material in the concrete by passing through a gap between the base wall and the sleeve or through open windows in the base wall to entrain the base wall when it is present.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2019Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Assignee: Reliance Worldwide CorporationInventors: James W.
