  • Patent number: 4711614
Abstract: A mounting arrangement for closely connecting a lift mast assembly to a frame member of a work vehicle includes a first apparatus for pivotally connecting a first end portion of lift mast upright guide member to a first shaft, a second apparatus for connecting a first end portion of the first shaft to a first support flange and guiding the first shaft for slidable movement in directions substantially parallel to a wheel spindle axis, and a third apparatus for connecting a second end portion of the first shaft to the vehicle frame member and maintaining the first shaft from slidable axial movement relative to the first support flange. An arrangement for passing pressurized fluid to a location between the first end of the first shaft and a support flange second side is provided to force the first shaft from connection with the first support flange. The mounting arrangement is particularly suited for use on a fork lift truck.

  • Patent number: 4320819
Abstract: A seat operated parking brake assembly for lift trucks and the like normally imposes an overload force on a caliper-type brake thereof, after the brake has been engaged. The present invention provides an arrangement (34 or 34') for maintaining a brake (20) of this type in its disengaged condition when a seat (11) is maintained in a first position under the weight of an operator and for isolating continued movement of the seat (11) from the brake (20), after the brake (20) has been engaged in response to initial movement of the seat (11).

  • Patent number: 4173264
Abstract: A vehicle frame has first and second members having adjustably telescoping channel portions securable by bolts disposed in selected combinations of holes provided in the channel portions for providing a total vehicle frame of a chosen length and wheelbase. Adjacent portions of the respective members define portions of a battery compartment which varies with the size of the vehicle frame to accommodate the power requirements thereof. Channel shaped spacers join facing portions of the members for increased strength of the resulting frame.A rear axle mounting assembly is adjustably mounted on the rear member for independent adjustment of the wheelbase.A second embodiment has front and rear members secured by a selected nestable spacer member having an adjustable axle mounting for independent adjustment of the vehicle frame and wheelbase.
