  • Patent number: 6148562
Abstract: An improved soundproofing system for a window sash mounted for sliding vertical movement between jambs of a window case includes first and second jamb liners which are mounted on opposite jambs of a window case, and which each define a vertically extending channel in which a coil spring is disposed with one end connected to the window case and with an opposite end connected to a sash which is vertically slidable between the jambs. At least one strip of sound-absorbent material such as felt is wrapped at least partially around and attached to each of the coil springs. Each of the vertically extending channels includes an open side which faces away from the jamb. A spring cover is connected to and closes a vertically extending portion of the open side of each of the vertically extending channels. The fabric strip wrapped around the springs, and the spring cover, together or separately substantially reduce objectionable noises generated by the springs.

  • Patent number: 4372219
Abstract: Material handling apparatus for the controlled movement of goods on pallets having wheels for engaging intersecting rails, movable track sections in the intersecting rails underlying the wheels to selectively permit movement of the pallets in two angular directions, and a drive engaging the pallets for selective movement along either of the two intersecting rails. The drive includes a direction control for orienting a pinion to drive the pallet along either of the intersecting rails and a direction control locking device for locking the pinion in position to drive the pallets along either of the two intersecting rails.

  • Patent number: 4273053
Abstract: Transporter or material handling apparatus for the controlled movement of goods includes two pairs of intersecting rails, a pallet for supporting the goods, a first group of wheels mounted on the pallet for rolling on one pair of intersecting rails, a second group of wheels mounted on the pallet for rolling on the other pair of intersecting rails, and a directional interchange in each of the intersecting rails permitting movement of the pallet in two angularly disposed directions therefrom. The movement of the pallet may be effected by a drive which engages the pallet for selectively propelling it in either of the two directions.
