  • Patent number: 7942781
Abstract: A high-efficiency vehicular transmission is provided. The transmission includes a transmission housing, a set of torque delivery elements which include first and second elements supported for rotation within the housing and an electric motor for changing angular velocity of at least one of the elements in response to an electrical signal during a shift to obtain a desired transmission ratio. At least one non-friction controllable coupling assembly has a coupling state for coupling the first element to either the second element or the housing and an uncoupling state for uncoupling the first element from either the second element or the housing, respectively. The at least one coupling assembly is non-hydraulically controlled to change state to maintain the desired transmission ratio.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 16, 2008
Date of Patent: May 17, 2011

  • Patent number: 4846346
Abstract: A portable container configured to fit behind the seat of a pickup truck utilizes an outer wedge shape to maximize the available volume. An upper and lower portion are hingedly mounted along a horizontal axis such that the upper portion may be utilized for storage, thus increasing the usable volume. A handle is provided which also serves as a support for the upper portion when in the open position. The container may be found in multiple configurations including an ice chest, a tool box, or a fishing tackle box.

  • Patent number: 4832193
Abstract: A portable container having a generally wedge shaped configuration utilizes a base portion and an upper portion hingedly connected at the vertical midpoint for separate storage compartments. The base portion includes a hingedly mounted door which latches to the base. The upper portion is secured in a closed position by the lip carried by the door which fits within a groove formed on the front of the top portion. An internal horizontal divider assures separation between the base and upper portion.

  • Patent number: 4491363
Abstract: A combined foldable table and bench unit embodies a pair of elongated seats arranged in parallel, spaced relation to each other. Transverse, vertically extending frame supports mounted adjacent the ends of each seat support the seats above a supporting surface. An arm is pivotally connected at one end thereof to an upper front portion of each frame support. The arms are adapted for pivotal movement selectively to a rearwardly extending horizontal position and to a vertical position. A back support member extends between and is carried by the other ends of the arms of each elongated seat. When the arms extend rearwardly and horizontally, the back support members carried thereby extend vertically and define facing benches. When the arms are pivoted to their vertical positions, the back support members are pivoted to a horizontal position with adjacent portions thereof in abutting relation with each other to define a table at an elevation above the seats.
