  • Patent number: 5704495
Abstract: This invention relates to a novel restraining device for releasably restraining containers. A restraining device for an object having a base and a top, said restraining device having a base, back and top comprising: (a) a first restraining member associated with the back for releasably securing and applying a force to the base of the object; and (b) a second restraining member associated with the back for releasably restraining the top of the object and applying a restraining force on the top of the object, to thereby releasably secure the object in the restraining device.

  • Patent number: 5392517
Abstract: A ring gear is formed from a blank taken from a hot extruded tube stock. The tube stock is extruded to predetermined dimensions substantially smaller than the finished ring gear blank. A toroidal blank is cut from the tube stock and measured to determine the mass thereof. The blank is expanded by rolling it to new inner and outer diameters and width after which a set of gear teeth are formed on the periphery of the expanded blank.

  • Patent number: 5293035
Abstract: A charge-coupled detector array consists of a semiconductor substrate layer and an insulating surface layer which is castellated to give two different surface levels, and each of a row of electrodes applied to the insulating layer has a first portion at the higher surface level and a second portion at the lower level.Alternate electrodes in the row are connected to one electrical lead, the intervening electrodes are connected to a second lead, and in the case of electrodes connected to one lead only all the portions at the lower surface level have regions of passivating material applied opposite to them, at the other side of the substrate. Masking metal regions are provided on the substrate opposite to the electrode portions at the higher surface level in respect of all the electrodes connected to both leads.
