  • Patent number: 8525616
Abstract: An antenna feed network includes a septum polarizer including a waveguide defining a cavity, wherein a septum is disposed in the cavity to divide the cavity to form a first port and as second port, a diplexer in signal communication with at least one of the first port and the second port of the septum polarizer to route a signal based upon a frequency, and a wave coupler/splitter in signal communication with the diplexer to send and receive signals therebetween, the wave coupler/splitter including a first signal path and a second signal path, wherein the wave coupler/splitter controls a phase shift of a signal transmitted through at least one of the first signal path and the second signal path.

  • Patent number: 7489271
Abstract: A GPS-at-GEO system is provided that includes a receive antenna design that enables improved tracking of GPS space vehicle side-lobe signals. The receive antenna design is a conical mode helix antenna configured to produce a conical mode radiation pattern, which has zero gain at Nadir and higher gain in the side-lobe signal regions. The conical mode radiation pattern provides several advantages for GPS-at-GEO navigation applications. For example, this mode provides higher gain in the GPS space vehicle side-lobe signal regions for improved acquisition and tracking performance and lower gain at Nadir, providing reduced noise temperature and higher signal to noise ratio.

  • Patent number: 7076695
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically generating alarm thresholds for performance metrics, and for applying those thresholds to generate alarms is described. Statistical methods are used to generate one or more thresholds for metrics that may not fit a Gaussian or normal distribution, or that may exhibit cyclic behavior or persistent shifts in the values of the metrics. The statistical methods used to generate the thresholds may include statistical process control (SPC) methods, normalization methods, and heuristics.

  • Patent number: 6859188
Abstract: An antenna system particularly suitable for use with a satellite in a terrestrial communication system includes first and second signal reflectors which are selectively positionable with respect to an RF signal feed whereby first and second target areas can be serviced. A support structure is provided for the reflectors whereby the first and second reflectors are rotated into operating positions with respect the RF signal feed. The support structure further includes a hinge for supporting the first reflector whereby the reflector can be rotated between an operating position and a stow position. The support structure further includes a second gimbal which allows the second reflector to independently rotate to a flipped position and then pivot to the stow position adjacent to the first reflector with the concave surfaces of the two reflectors in a stacked position.

  • Patent number: 6365181
Abstract: A thixatropic gelatin carrier composition which is used as a vehicle in the manufacture of soft or hard gelatin capsule. The composition comprises from about 84% to 95% of a vegetable oil, from about 1% to 9% of a viscosity modifier and from about 1% to 15% of a surface active agent. When the carrier composition is stirred it becomes fluid and active solids are dispersed in the carrier during stirring. When the stirring is stopped, the carrier becomes a semi-solid and maintains the active solids in a stable uniform dispersion. Up to about 50% by weight of active solids can be dispersed in the carrier composition and the active solids can include vitamins, pharmaceuticals or nutriceuticals or combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 4816259
Abstract: This invention provides a new gelatin capsule formulation and subcoating for producing soft gelatine capsules having better mechanical strength and an improved capacity for adhering to known coating compositions, particularly enteric coating compositions. The finished capsule shell formulation comprises gelatin 65%-70%, glycerin 22%-25% and water 8%-10% and the subcoating is a suspension of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. The subcoating may also be used to manufacture improved enteric coated hard gelatin capsules.
