  • Patent number: 11937904
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include wearable devices and techniques for detecting cardio machine activities, estimating user direction of travel, and monitoring performance during cardio machine activities. By accurately and promptly detecting cardio machine activities and automatically distinguishing between activities performed on different types of cardio machines, the disclosure enables wearable devices to accurately calculate user performance information when users forget to start and/or stop recording activities on a wide variety of cardio machines. In various embodiments, cardio machine activity detection techniques may use magnetic field data from a magnetic field sensor to improve the accuracy of orientation data and device heading measurements used to detect the end of a cardio machine activity.

  • Patent number: 6896102
Abstract: An apparatus used in the assembly and structure of tables, benches, sawhorses, and scaffolds. In particular, the invention discloses a U-beam top joint with lumber end gripper used with a U-beam splay bar, which are used in pairs or greater multiples to hold pieces of lumber in the required position to form a structure. The combination can be readily transported to a recreation or construction site and used to assemble a picnic table, bench, sawhorse with lumber fence, bench, scaffold or like structure with available lumber, cut to form the desired height for the structure. The U-beam top joint with lumber end gripper and the U-beam splay bar interact with the lumber legs and cross-beam such that an increase in load on the cross-beam causes a proportional increase in the rigidity and stability of the structure. The U-beam top joint and the U-beam splay bar each have side lumber brackets by which multiple top joints and splay bars can be linked to each other.

  • Patent number: 4224204
Abstract: This invention relates to the use of hydrocarbon polymers for example of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,060,569 to bind oil contained in waxes so that, in end use performance, the wax more closely equals fully refined wax. Among other things, the hydrocarbon polymer not only inhibits and/or prevents the oil in the wax from "sweating" or exuding to the surface but also hardens the wax. The hydrocarbon polymers can also be used to thicken oil to a paste or gel.
