    Abstract: A medical aid that functions as (1) a standalone femur traction device for femur traction or (2) a trapezoidally-shaped cushioned leg support pillow. The medical aid can be placed on an ordinary bed and is constructed to provide traction without the use of weights or pulleys. The medical aid includes a base that supports a trapezoidally-shaped leg pillow or support and an adjustable U-shaped fulcrum coupled to the base. The U-shaped fulcrum supports thereon an elastic cord with an attached leg pin connector. Adjustment of the U-shaped fulcrum and/or the tension applied by the elastic cord varies the amount of traction. The trapezoidally-shaped cushioned leg support can be used with or without the base.

    Abstract: A method of packaging compressible insulation material includes feeding insulation material into contact with a mandrel, rolling up the insulation material on the mandrel to form an insulation roll, applying pressure on the insulation material, during the rolling of the insulation material, with a pair of opposed belts which are adapted to contact the roll being formed with an increasing area of contact as the diameter of the roll increases, and increasing tension on the belts as the diameter of the roll increases in order to maintain a substantially constant pressure on the insulation material.

    Abstract: A method for collecting long glass fibers produces substantial lattice uniformity, eliminates the need for binder, and results in a generally rectangular wool pack which displays significant compressibility and recovery desired for commercial products. Generally spiral flow of fibers in the veil is captured on collecting conveyors and conveyed through direct forming apparatus with generally minimal disturbance of the spiral relationship between glass fibers. Further, a system is disclosed for producing wool insulation products of long glass fibers in accordance with the method. The principles and practices of the method and system may further be employed with short fibers to produce a wool pack of generally oriented short fibers.

    Abstract: A method for making a mineral fiber insulation assembly is disclosed. The insulation assembly includes a mineral core having opposed major surfaces, opposed side surfaces and opposed end surfaces. polymer film covers only the opposed major surfaces and opposed side surfaces. One or multiple lanes of mineral fiber packs are moved along a predetermined path. At least one sheet of polymer film is supplied to the predetermined path to cover the major surfaces and side surfaces. The polymer film is attached to at least one of the core side surfaces and a plurality of openings are in the polymer film adjacent at least one side surface. The mineral fiber pack and the polymer film cover are cut perpendicular to the predetermined path to form individual ones of the mineral fiber insulation assemblies.

Pressure sensing means in the conduit senses pressures therein for application in a formula to provide the desired steam values and provide a method for determining both the quality and the mass flow rate of steam flow passing through the conduit. The measurements are of particular value in the instance of steam flow where a minimal decrease in steam pressure across the measuring instrument is a relevant factor.

The insulation assembly includes a longitudinally extending mineral fiber core having opposed major surfaces, opposed side surfaces and opposed end surfaces. A low friction polymer film is positioned adjacent the major surfaces and the side surfaces. At least one of the side surfaces is attached to the polymer film. A plurality of openings are provided in the polymer film adjacent at least one of the side surfaces. The insulation assembly is readily compressible and expandable at the job site. The low friction film provides easy installation.
