  • Publication number: 20220410856
Abstract: A tip-over prevention system for vehicle, including a tilt detector operably coupled to a rear axle of the vehicle. The tilt detector is configured to detect a current tilt. A tilt controller is placed in electronic communication with the tilt detector and the tilt controller is placed in electronic communication with a braking controller that is configured to activate a braking system of the vehicle. The tilt controller is configured to determine if the current tilt exceeds a preset tilt threshold. In response to the current tilt exceeding the preset tilt threshold, the tilt controller is configured to signal the braking controller to activate the braking system of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11498469
Abstract: A tip-over prevention system for dumping vehicles includes a tilt detector operably coupled to one of a cargo body and a chassis of a dumping vehicle. At least a portion of the cargo body is configured to be raised by a piston, and the tilt detector is configured to detect a current tilt. The system includes a fluid release valve placed in fluid communication with the piston which is activated in response to the tilt detector detecting a current tilt that exceeds a preset tilt limit. Activation of the fluid release valve releases a pressure in the piston causing the cargo body of the vehicle to lower.

  • Patent number: 8777324
Abstract: A dump bed assembly (18) is provided for coupling to a truck having a chassis (22) for supporting the dump bed assembly (18). The dump bed assembly (18) includes a cargo receiving dump bed (13) coupled to the chassis (22) and movable between a travel configuration and a dump configuration. The dump bed includes a metal skeletal frame (85) including a plurality of frame members that define a plurality of openings (171) between the frame members. A plastic bed (90) comprises at least one plastic bed member coupled to and supported by the plurality of frame members. The plastic bed member extends into the openings defined by the frame members.
