  • Publication number: 20210094800
Abstract: Systems and methods may be used to monitor the integrity of a belt of an elevator system. Many buildings nowadays do not have the luxury of being able to regularly take an elevator system out of service to perform a giant magneto-resistance (GMR) scan of an entire length of the belt from which an elevator car is suspended. One method to avoid this inconvenience involves performing GMR scans of segments of the belt during the course of everyday passenger traffic and compiling data associated with different segments into a complete GMR profile for the belt. To determine whether the belt contains an irregularity, the GMR profile may then be compared to one or more baseline GMR profiles that were acquired previously, ideally at a time when the belt was known not to contain any irregularities.

  • Patent number: 10140198
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a networked desktop environment is provided. Executing a networked desktop environment may include identifying a networked desktop state of the networked desktop environment, which may include a networked desktop workspace and an information element. The networked desktop state may include information indicating a multi-dimensional position of a representation of the information element in the networked desktop workspace. Executing the networked desktop environment may include generating instructions for use in rendering the networked desktop workspace, which may include information indicative of the networked desktop state, and transmitting the instructions to an interface device. Information indicating an interaction with the networked desktop environment may be received and the networked desktop state may be updated based on the interaction information.

  • Publication number: 20150199307
Abstract: Techniques are shown for enabling a network system to receive collaborative edits from users at a first front end URL, and receive viewing requests from users at a second front end URL. The edits are processed using operational transformation techniques and stored as sets of edits. Multiple pluggable flattening utilities retrieve the sets of edits and convert them into structured data documents specifically tailored for different client devices or online services. The structured data documents are stored and retrieved by rendering servers upon receiving viewing requests. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Patent number: 8909596
Abstract: Solutions, systems, and techniques for applying 2-dimensional changes to a shared document are discussed. The document is divided into vertical columns of a particular width, each column represented as a one-dimensional vector that is a sequential list of blocks in that column, each block representing a content item included in the document. Each block has a starting column, a block height, and a block width indicated by how many columns the block occupies. Each block has row indexes that represent a relative position of the block in each column it occupies. A document modification command is represented as transfer functions, each transfer function corresponding to a document column. The transfer functions are applied to the document columns to alter a row index of block(s) in the corresponding column(s), thereby altering the relative position of a block with respect to other blocks in that column.
