  • Publication number: 20090248559
Abstract: There is provided a method that includes (a) determining a first risk score that characterizes a party, based on an activity that involves the party, and (b) determining a second risk score that characterizes the party, based on a presented characteristic of the party, if the first risk score exceeds a threshold. There is also provided a system that performs the method, and a storage medium having a program encoded thereon that is executable in a processor to perform the method.

  • Publication number: 20090248465
Abstract: There is provided a method that includes (a) determining a first risk score that characterizes a first party, based on a presented characteristic of the first party, (b) associating the first party with a second party, based on the first risk score, (c) determining a second risk score that characterizes the first party, based on an activity that involves the second party, and (d) determining a resultant risk score that characterizes the first party, based on the first and second risk scores. There is also provided a system that performs the method, and a storage media having a program encoded thereon that is executable in a processor to perform the method.

  • Publication number: 20090055828
Abstract: A system for profile record generation of input records, the system comprising: a record processor which converts the input records into a data records suitable for the profile record generation; and a statistics engine for the generation of profile records based on the data records. Furthermore, system optimization can be obtained by use of a task control method that sub-divides the aggregations of profile records into units of work that can be individually performed, the method comprising: partitioning based on a pre-determined partitioning key associated with entities to be profiled, wherein the association between the partitioning key and the entities being profiled is varied in order to optimize the profiling performance.

  • Patent number: 6615193
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for electronic value payment in which a practical and secure means for auditing and accounting electronic value is achieved. The invention offers a means for identifying “blocks” of electronic value with single electronic tags. This facility makes the invention compact to implement and offers a practical way for tagging in circumstances where large amounts of electronic value, such as required for electronic representations of money, preclude the use of individual unit tagging. The invention combines block tagging with tag flow control mechanisms which allows block auditing and detection of counterfeit value. Independent tag (10) and value (12) representations make it possible to operationally change the tag associated with a block of value. The electronic value representations of the invention are readily applied to existing value exchange systems.
