  • Patent number: 11958152
Abstract: A safety system for a power miter saw comprises a support member, at least one multidirectional manipulator including a workpiece holder member moveably mounted to the support member for securing a workpiece in place, and a control box. The workpiece holder member includes a presence indicator operatively connected to the control box and configured to detect the physical presence of a saw operator's hand on the at least one multidirectional manipulator when the saw operator's hand engages the presence indicator. The control box is operatively connectable to a trigger switch of the power miter saw so that an electric motor of the power miter saw is activated only when both the presence indicator of the safety system and the trigger switch of the power miter saw are engaged by both hands of an operator of the power miter saw.

Abstract: Autonomous management of wireless connectivity of priority response vehicles is provided. It is received, from a communications network including a plurality of access points, the access points configured to provide communications services to priority vehicles and non-priority vehicles, locations of the priority vehicles over the communications network. A SON server is utilized, in communication with the plurality of access points, to optimize wireless connectivity for the priority vehicles. It is received, by an enhanced vehicle management system (EVMS) server, in communication with the SON server, network quality information from the SON server. The priority vehicles are routed based on the network quality information.

  • Publication number: 20240076408
Abstract: In one aspect, the invention provides methods of inhibiting the effects of MASP-2-dependent complement activation in a living subject. The methods comprise the step of administering, to a subject in need thereof, an amount of a MASP-2 inhibitory agent effective to inhibit MASP-2-dependent complement activation. In some embodiments, the MASP-2 inhibitory agent inhibits cellular injury associated with MASP-2-mediated alternative complement pathway activation, while leaving the classical (C1q-dependent) pathway component of the immune system intact. In another aspect, the invention provides compositions for inhibiting the effects of lectin-dependent complement activation, comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a MASP-2 inhibitory agent and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

  • Patent number: 11813981
Abstract: A selectable vehicle profile for an electrified vehicle (EV) may be communicated to a vehicle controller to modify vehicle acceleration, generate simulated engine sounds, customize the look and feel of a vehicle instrument cluster/panel display and/or human-machine interface(s) (HMI) (including gages, menus, displays, colors etc.), control transmission simulated shift schedule and feel, control active suspension/ride control, and similar features so that the EV operates to provide a driving experience similar to a previously profiled vehicle, such as a non-electrified vehicle. Vehicle profiles may be generated by an OEM or after-market supplier based on actual measurements and/or specifications associated with operation of a particular non-electrified vehicle. The vehicle profile may be licensed for download to the EV, and/or made available through a subscription service, for example.

  • Publication number: 20230239765
Abstract: Mesh device communication is provided. A dictionary of indexes corresponding to different messages is stored to a cache memory of an access device. A message is received via a transceiver of the access device. The cache memory is accessed to look up the message to identify an index corresponding to the message. The message is propagated, via the transceiver, to a wireless access device mesh network including a plurality of other access devices by broadcasting the index of the message.

  • Patent number: 11016712
Abstract: This disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for generating a customized display in a vehicle. The customized display may be generated on the basis of various factors such as a reason for executing a trip, a preferred travel model, and/or operating parameters of the vehicle. A few exemplary reasons for executing a trip can include taking a vacation, delivering a package, dropping off a passenger, dining out, going to work, a fuel fill up, and/or for charging a battery. A computer may utilize such reasons to identify objects of interest in a geographical area surrounding the vehicle when the vehicle is executing the trip and generate a customized display that includes these objects. For example, when the reason for executing the trip is a vacation, the objects in the customized display may include a tourist attraction, a landmark, a fueling station, an electric charging station, and/or a restaurant.

  • Patent number: 10814835
Abstract: A system includes a processor that receives an authentication request, at a vehicle, from an application executing on a device in communication with the vehicle, including a security designation. The receiving vehicle then determines if the vehicle has access to a primary security authentication system corresponding to the security designation. The vehicle also, responsive to the vehicle having access, utilizes the primary authentication system to authenticate a user via the determined primary security authentication system and provide user credentials, obtained based on successful use of the primary authentication system, to the device.

  • Publication number: 20200080881
Abstract: The present invention defines six unexpected benefits resulting from the automation of and improvements to inventory reconciliation and tank level monitoring at tank farms, terminals and refineries, commonly associated with refining and the transportation of, hydrocarbon fuels. In the implementation of an automated system for tank level monitoring and periodic inventory reconciliation, it has been discovered that both applications can be used to correctly identify maintenance needs and policy violations that were previously unable to be identified. The benefits include identification of thermal relief valve failure, transmix check valve failure, lock out/tag out failure, floating roof landing, and incorrect tank assignments.
