  • Patent number: 11830330
Abstract: Approaches are described for storing, managing, and dispensing products from automated multi-user kiosks. For example, a multi-user kiosk may include interface sides alternating with non-interface panels including at least one storage door for loading products. Products are stored in a shared storage within the kiosk. The shared storage may be a plurality of carousels stacked as a single column Each carousel can rotate independently of each other. Users are verified and authorized prior to purchasing products or accessing storage for loading products. A first carousel containing a first product may be rotated in a first direction to dispense the first product to a first user at a first side of the kiosk at substantially a same time as a second carousel containing a second product rotates in a second direction to dispense the second product to a second user at a second side of the kiosk.

  • Publication number: 20190005759
Abstract: Systems and methods for a multi-user, vandal-resistant digital kiosk to: (i) securely store a plurality of items and goods; (ii) authenticate dispensing a plurality of selectable and identifiable items and goods through mobile applications and/or kiosk interface, permit selection of items, communicate selection to authentication service, perform user verification including, but not limited to, government identification databases; biometric authentication to confirm user's identity and determine eligibility and enable interaction with the kiosk; (iii) enable system to receive user's payment; (iv) transmit purchase data to a remote database connected to multiple user interfaces; instructions to simultaneously dispense selected items and goods to multiple users at multiple kiosk exit portals; (v) enable modules to release only selected items and goods from inventory; (vi) enable multi-pass assembler to package only purchased items and goods by each user in chunks that fit the kiosk exit portals; (viii) enable in

  • Publication number: 20170104242
Abstract: Battery systems, and methods for manufacturing the same, are disclosed. The battery system may include one or more layers of anode, cathode, and electrolyte. The electrolyte may be solid, dense, and thin. The electrolyte may be configured in a non-planar geometry, such as a concentric cylindrical geometry or a helical geometry. A sealant may be applied to a housing enclosing the anode, cathode, and a portion of the electrolyte such that electrode-to-electrode contact is prevented. The method of manufacturing a battery system may include sonicating materials forming the electrolyte and curing the materials in layers. The anode and cathode materials are applied to the electrolyte and are enclosed in the housing. The sealant is applied such that contact is prohibited between the anode and the cathode.

  • Patent number: 8611235
Abstract: In one embodiment, estimating a length of a network connection, determining whether the estimated network connection length deviates from a predetermined threshold range, modifying one or more signal characteristics when it is determined that the estimated network connection length deviates from the predetermined threshold range are provided.

  • Patent number: 8014388
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for selectively routing traffic from a port in a switch for use in a chassis-based server are provided. The switch may include a flexible physical layer component, allowing traffic from a channel (e.g., an Ethernet channel) to be routed to a connector on a front panel of the switch or to switch cross-connect routing in a backplane of the server system. The routing may be selectable by a user, for example, under software control, allowing flexibility to the user to select the routing that best fits an application, while conserving resources by not requiring a dedicated channel for each routing data path.
