Publication number: 20160327195Abstract: A quick connect system for vent hose hook-up is provided. In an implementation, a quick-connect member can be quickly attached to a source of airflow without using tools. The quick-connect member has a built-in clamp that attaches to the airflow source, and can be secured to the source of airflow by finger-tightening. A quick-connect lock on the other end of the quick-connect member enables a vent hose to be quickly connected to the member, also without using tools. The quick-connect lock also allows unhooking of the set-up without tools in order to clean inside ducts, vents, and hoses, and then fast reattachment without tools. The quick connect system alleviates the difficulty of connecting exit hoses to the airflow vent of a clothes dryer, in the limited and confined space behind the clothes dryer.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2016Publication date: November 10, 2016Inventors: James William Johnson, Patricia J Blakeman

Patent number: 8089727Abstract: A data storage cartridge comprises data storage media configured to store data for read and/or write access, wherein the data may be arranged in a plurality of partitions; and a plurality of cartridge memories. A control system, for example of a data storage drive, is configured to allocate at least portions of capacity of the data storage media to cartridge memories of the data storage cartridge; and to provide information defining the allocated portions of capacity to the cartridge memories. Each of the cartridge memories may have a separate user and thus provide access for that user to separate partitions.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2009Date of Patent: January 3, 2012Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Allen Keith Bates, Nils Haustein, James William Johnson, Craig Anthony Klein, Daniel James Winarski

Patent number: 7184859Abstract: Remotely sensed spectral image data are used to develop a Vegetation Index file which represents spatial variations of actual crop vigor throughout a field that is under cultivation. The latter information is processed to place it in a format that can be used by farm personnel to correlate and calibrate it with actually observed crop conditions existing at control points within the field. Based on the results, farm personnel formulate a prescription request, which is forwarded via email or FTP to a central processing site, where the prescription is prepared. The latter is returned via email or FTP to on-side farm personnel, who can load it into a controller on a spray rig that directly applies inputs to the field at a spatially variable rate.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2004Date of Patent: February 27, 2007Assignee: InTime, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth Brown Hood, Michael R. Seal, Mark David Lewis, James William Johnson

Patent number: 6124486Abstract: The specification discloses a process for making low calorie triglycerides. The process involves interesterifying short triglycerides having C.sub.2 to C.sub.10 fatty acid chains and long triglycerides having C.sub.16 to C.sub.24 fatty acid chains in the presence of a catalyst and without a solvent to produce low calorie triglycerides as an interesterification product of the long and short triglycerides comprising individual triglycerides wherein a substantial is portion of the low calorie triglycerides have two long C.sub.16 to C.sub.24 fatty acid chains and one short C.sub.2 to C.sub.10 fatty acid chain having at least one long C.sub.16 to C.sub.24 fatty acid chain and at least one short C.sub.2 to C.sub.10 fatty acid chain. The process enables continuous production of low calorie triglycerides with recycle of catalyst and unreacted starting materials for an economical mode of operation with improved product yield and quality.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1997Date of Patent: September 26, 2000Assignee: Eastman Chemical CompanyInventors: Daniel Eric Cherwin, James William Johnson, Jr.
