Patent number: 11989839Abstract: A method including executing a logical computing element (LCE) on a server. Worker LCEs are executed on the server. A first electronic file comprising geometry data in a first data structure is received at the controller LCE. An available worker LCE is identified, by the controller LCE, as an in-use worker LCE from among the worker LCEs. The geometry data is imported by the in-use worker LCE. A job instance is established by the in-use worker LCE. A rendering engine is launched by the in-use worker LCE. The rendering engine generates, for the job instance and using the geometry data, a dataset file in a second data structure different than the first data structure. The dataset file is returned by the in-use worker LCE to the controller LCE. The dataset file is returned by the controller LCE to a remote computer.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2021Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Patrick William O'Neill, Mark Gordon Sellars, Michael Joseph Surface, Nick S. Publication number: 20240108844Abstract: A humidification system can include a heater base, a humidification chamber, and a breathing circuit. A cartridge can be removably coupled to the heater base. The cartridge can include various sensors, probes, sensor wire connectors, heater wire connectors, and/or other features. The cartridge can include features configured to mate with corresponding features on the humidification chamber and the heater base. The cartridge includes a memory, such as an EEPROM, or other suitable storage device. When the cartridge is installed on the heater base, the memory is electrically connected to a processor and/or memory of the heater base. Various models of cartridges can be produced for use with different humidification chambers, breathing circuits, and/or therapies. A connector can be configured to couple an inspiratory conduit to an outlet port of the humidification chamber. The connector can provide a pneumatic connection to the outlet port and an electrical connection to the cartridge.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Hamish Adrian OSBORNE, Gavin Walsh Millar, Stephen David Evans, Bruce Gordon Holyoake, James William Stanton, David Leon McCauley, Gareth Thomas McDermott, Nicholas James Michael McKenna, Myfanwy Jane Antica Norton, Adrian John Elsworth, Michael John Andresen, Jonathan Andrew George Lambert, Sandeep Singh Gurm, Tessa Hazel Paris, Joseph Nathaniel Griffiths, Ping Si, Christopher Gareth Sims, Elmo Benson Stoks, Dexter Chi Lun Cheung, Peter Alan Seekup, Po-Yen Liu, Richard Edward Lang, Paul James Tonkin, Ian Lee Wai Kwan

Publication number: 20240100316Abstract: A circuit connector for a humidification system, the system comprising a base unit configured to be engaged by a humidification chamber. The circuit connector comprises an inlet to fluidly connect to an outlet of the humidification chamber to receive humidified gases therefrom, an outlet to sealably connect to or integral with a conduit for directing the humidified gases to a user, and an electrical terminal for electrically coupling the circuit connector to an electrical terminal associated with the base unit. The circuit connector may be releasably and lockably connectable to the outlet of the humidification chamber and/or orientation features may control orientation of component parts of the system as they are assembled.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Hamish Adrian OSBORNE, James William STANTON, Bruce Gordon HOLYOAKE, Stephen David EVANS, David Leon MCCAULEY, Nicholas James Michael MCKENNA, Gareth Thomas MCDERMOTT, Myfanwy Jane Antica NORTON, Gavin Walsh MILLAR, Thomas Jacques Fernand MAECKELBERGHE

Patent number: 8125214Abstract: The invention relates to methods and devices for accurately monitoring the electrical current in electrolytic cells used to produce metals, including but not limited to aluminum, or other chemical substances. A plurality of sensors are placed at some distance from the conductor, with at least two sensors at a known distance from each other. Measurements from the plurality of sensors are used to calculate the electrical current.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2009Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Inventors: Daniel Artemus Steingart, James Williams Evans

Patent number: 7768425Abstract: A sensing system for sensing conditions or characteristics associated with a process or thing. The sensing system includes one or more energy converters and a sensor, which are coupled to the process or thing. A node is coupled to the sensor and the energy-converter, and the node is powered by output from the energy converter. In a more specific embodiment, the node includes a controller that implements one or more routines for selectively powering a wireless transmitter of the node based on a predetermined condition. The predetermined condition may specify that sensor output values are within a predetermined range or are below or above a predetermined threshold. Alternatively, the predetermined condition may specify that electrical energy output from the energy converter is below a predetermined threshold. A remote computer may be wirelessly connected to node and may include software and/or hardware that is adapted to process information output by the sensor and relayed to the computer via the node.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2008Date of Patent: August 3, 2010Assignees: The Regents of the University of California, Alcoa Technical CenterInventors: James William Evans, Michael Harris Schneider, Daniel Artemis Steingart, Paul K. Wright, Donald P. Ziegler
