  • Patent number: 12071540
Abstract: Compositions include polymer filaments compatible with fused filament fabrication, comprising: a thermoplastic polymer; and a bio-based additive admixed with the thermoplastic polymer in an effective amount to decrease total volatile organic compound (TVOC) emissions under additive manufacturing conditions, as determined by gas chromatography and measured relative to the thermoplastic polymer alone, by at least about 10% on a weight basis. Methods for forming a polymer filament compatible with fused filament fabrication may comprise: forming a melt blend comprising a thermoplastic polymer and a bio-based additive; and extruding the melt blend and cooling to form a polymer filament comprising the bio-based additive admixed with the thermoplastic polymer.

  • Patent number: 8492064
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for preparing a polyester based magnetic toner composition. The toner composition includes one or more polyester amorphous binder resins, optionally a cystalline polyester resin, and spherical ferromagnetic particles. In embodiments, the toner is prepared from ferromagentic particles that have been previously encapsulated in an amorphous resin, a crystalline resin or a wax. In yet other embodiments, the process may be conducted under an inert gas such as argon to avoid oxidation of the ferromagnetic particles during toner preparation.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20130044851
Abstract: A nuclear plant auxiliary backup power system that uses decay heat following a plant shutdown to produce electrical power through a dedicated steam turbine/generator set. The decay heat produces a hot operating gaseous fluid which is used as a backup to run an appropriately sized turbine that powers an electrical generator. The turbine is configured to utilize a portion of the existing nuclear plant secondary system and exhausts the turbine exhaust to the ambient atmosphere. The system functions to both remove reactor decay heat and provide electrical power for plant systems to enable an orderly shutdown in the event traditional sources of electric power are unavailable.

  • Publication number: 20070154229
Abstract: A method of supplying toner to a printing device includes providing a universal developer for at least two colors. A developer system includes a universal developer unit and a developing station that develops an image using the toner and the universal developer. The universal developer may be provided to each of the colors. An auger for a color mixes the toner and the universal developer supplied therein. The amount of the toner supplied may be determined based on a concentration of the toner and the universal developer in a developer housing. The universal developer may be provided in a form of cartridge, which may be installed to a selected one of the colors.
