  • Patent number: 10374117
Abstract: A solar panel mount system includes a ballasted block support resting on a ground surface, a post pivoted to the block support at a lower pivot, and a solar panel frame pivoted to the post at an upper pivot with a center of gravity over the ballasted block support and facing a desired sunlight-receiving direction. The upper pivot is selected to be at a desired adjusted height. The frame includes a yoke supported at the upper pivot and support beams supporting a solar panel. A method of installation includes placing the ballasted block support on the ground, and attaching the remaining components at desired angles to locate a center of gravity of the solar panel frame over the ballasted block support, and fixing an angle of the solar panel frame at a desired sun-facing position. A related method includes interconnecting solar panel frames on posts in a generally straight row.

Abstract: A solar electric system comprises photovoltaic elements having integrated energy storage and control, ideally on each PV-panel. The energy storage media may be primary or secondary cylindrical cells interconnected into a battery and/or an array of capacitors (or super-capacitors) and are accompanied by an electronic control circuit which may perform a variety of functions, including but not limited to power quality control, load following, pulse powering, active line transient suppression, local sensing, remote reporting, wireless or wired communications allowing two way programmable control through local or remote operation. The operation of the system may yield direct current or with the integration of bidirectional micro-inverters create distributed alternating current generation enhanced with energy storage and control two way energy flows between the solar system and the grid.

  • Patent number: 6683395
Abstract: A connector with a limited ampacity supplies a load which draws more current than the ampacity of the connector. A buck converter changes the power passing through the connector to a higher current at a lower voltage to energize the load. Alternatively, if the load is intermittent, the current passing through the connector may charge a large capacitor which is able to supply a larger current to the intermittent load. The capacitor may also be used to power a continuous load, such as a memory, during failure of a power supply feeding the connector.

  • Patent number: 6362768
Abstract: An Input/Output device has programmable signal conditioning and signal control circuitry capable of receiving signals, scaling the received signals to a predetermined voltage range, determining signal type for each of the received signals, and controlling input/output circuitry of the programmable signal conditioning and signal control circuitry for accessing input signals and generating output signals. The I/O device further includes conversion circuitry for receiving the output signals and converting the output signals from analog to digital to enable these signals to be digitally processed, and also receives digitally processed signals, converts the digitally processed signals to analog signals, and transmits the analog signals as input signals to the programmable signal conditioning and signal control circuitry.
