  • Patent number: 8566293
Abstract: An apparatus for creating and managing personalized services includes: a pre-processing unit for converting vendor- and device-specific sensor data into a normalized form; an analysis unit for determining a current state of entities being managed based on the normalized sensor data to thereby determine whether current services and/or resources that have been allocated to a user are being satisfied or not; and a personalization unit for examining state-related context data to determine what action to take. The personalization of the services and/or resources provided to a user or set of users is managed by context-sensitive policy rules. In addition, a set of abstractions, in the form of preferences, profiles, and subscriptions, are collectively used to determine the set of services and/or resources, as a function of context, that a user or set of users are entitled to receive.

  • Patent number: 8204552
Abstract: A method for predicting an available time of a battery in a mobile device includes: defining one or more modes depending on usage patterns of the mobile device that affects power consumption of the battery; creating time-series data about power consumption amount of the battery and use time of the battery in each mode; calculating, based on the time-series data, average power consumption rate per each mode and use time rate; and predicting the available time of the battery, based on the average power consumption rate per each mode and the use time rate per each mode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 2009
Date of Patent: June 19, 2012

Inventors: James Won-Ki Hong, Joon-Myung Kang
  • Patent number: 8089368
Abstract: A method for detecting abnormal power consumption of respective batteries in mobile devices includes defining one or more operational states affecting power consumption of the batteries; collecting time-series data on an amount of the power consumption and use time of each battery in each of the operational states; calculating a power consumption rate, usage patterns, and an actual use time of the individual batteries based on the time-series data; estimating an amount of an available time remaining on the individual batteries based on average power consumption rate of all of the batteries; and comparing the estimated available time with the actual use time of the individual batteries to judge whether a power of the individual batteries is being consumed abnormally.

  • Patent number: 7933248
Abstract: A method for deciding a handover of a mobile terminal based on context information in a network environment includes receiving context information from the terminal and networks; evaluating selection priorities of network interfaces for each transmission path for each application program based on the context information; and obtaining a handover decision value for selecting a best network interface from among the networks by applying a cost function to the evaluated selection priority. Further, an apparatus for deciding a handover of a mobile terminal based on context information in a network environment, includes a monitor that collects context information from the terminal and networks; an analyzer that evaluates selection priorities of the networks for each transmission path for each application program based on the context information; and a planner that obtains a handover decision value for each transmission path of each application program based on the selection priorities.

  • Publication number: 20040173103
Abstract: A full-automatic cooking machine comprises a raw ingredient storage and supply section, a pre-cooking section, a cooking section, and a electric control cabinet integrated into a box-shaped machine. A programmable controller controls all the action of the machine. The raw ingredient storage and supply section has an alley formed with hundreds of supply drawer. A servo manipulator moves along the alley to collect raw ingredients, then dispenses them into a frying pan in the cooking section. The cooking section has four frying pans mounted on a turntable capable of revolving the four frying pans to four working station: pre-heating station, loading station, stir-frying station, and clean station. They work in a parallel way. A pendent servo robot arm with spatula works on the stir-frying section.
