  • Publication number: 20140214952
Abstract: Systems and methods for the forming of user device groups are presented. In one example, a message received at a user device from a server system, the message indicating that a user of the user device has been added to a logical group of users. Then content may be transmitted from the user device to the server system for distribution to the logical group of users. Then, in response to determination that the user device has been out of communication with the server system for a predetermined period of time a determination is made, utilizing a coasting module on the user device, that the user should be removed from the logical group of users based on a factor other than a length of time the user device has been out of communication with the server system.

  • Publication number: 20140214981
Abstract: Systems and methods for the forming of user device groups are presented. Tuning parameters are pushed to a first user device operated by a first user, the tuning parameters specifying weights and/or functions to be applied to data from one or more sensors on the first user device. Tuned data is received from the first user device, the tuned data representing data from the one or more sensors that has been tuned in accordance with the tuning parameters. Then potential membership of the first user in a first group of users is determined based on logical relationship information, by selecting the first group from a plurality of possible groups, the selecting being based on scores generated, for each of the plurality of possible groups, by a candidate scorer module using the tuned data.

  • Publication number: 20140214948
Abstract: Systems and methods for the forming of user device groups are presented. In one example, a message including location information indicating a geographic location of a first user device is received from the first user device. Values representing logical connection strengths between the first user device and other user devices are calculated using the location information. A first device group is determined for the first user device based on the calculating of the values representing the logical connection strengths, the first device group including a plurality of the other user devices.

  • Publication number: 20140214951
Abstract: Systems and methods for adding a first user to a first group of users are presented. First, logical relationship information describing logical relationships among a plurality of users is accessed. Then potential membership of a first user in a first group of users is determined based on the logical relationship information, by selecting the first group from a plurality of possible groups, the selecting being based on scores generated, for each of the plurality of possible groups, by a candidate scorer module, the scores based at least partially on both passive and active interactions between the first user and other users, the first group of users containing a plurality of users, including one or more users who are not logically connected to the first user. Then the first user is added to the first group of users.

  • Patent number: 8783489
Abstract: A collapsible cargo container is disclosed wherein end walls are pivoted into the container when empty and locked against the roof, and then side walls buckle via hinges into a folded configuration. The folded configuration is achieved easily with a modified spreader without the need to otherwise disassemble or deconstruct the container, leaving no loose parts or tools. The cargo container preferably constructed with an improved light weight panel that facilitates loading of the container while improving strength and reducing weight.

  • Patent number: 8777236
Abstract: An improved braking system is disclosed in which a pair of conical braking members engage a pair of skate wheels through vertical movement of a pushrod that is actuated by movement of the skater's foot within a cuff. The braking members are separated by a spring disposed on an axel to maintain the braking members in optimal braking position. The braking members are serrated to promote frictional contact with the wheels, and a disk is positioned on the axel to act as a clutch to control the braking force.

  • Patent number: 8776209
Abstract: A VPN gateway is described that provides single sign-on (SSO) functionality with respect to remote users who have established tunneling sessions with the VPN gateway and who attempt to access a protected resource. The VPN gateway may receive, from a client device, a security assertion request that includes a request for a security assertion to be made by the VPN gateway with respect to a user of a private network associated with the VPN gateway, determine whether the security assertion request was received via a tunneling session established for the user between the client device and the VPN gateway, and issue a security assertion for the user in response to determining that the security assertion request was received via the tunneling session. In this way, a VPN gateway may act as an SSO identity provider for users that have an established tunneling session with the gateway.

  • Publication number: 20140138298
Abstract: A grate filtration system filters trash and debris from water flowing through a water channel by way of two vertical grates that intersect at a vertex and form a wedge shape that protrudes into the direction of flow of water in the channel. The grates are removably supported in grooves on side and center pillar supports. The vertical grates provide a spillway near the vertex. The system further includes a concrete apron that provides a smooth surface for the system and has grooves to support and retain the bottom edges of the vertical grates.

  • Publication number: 20140065611
Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention provides a method and reagents for predicting a subject's susceptibility or risk to developing a neurobehavioral deficit associated with mercury exposure. The method comprises performing an assay to determine the presence or absence of a CPOX4 polymorphism in one or both alleles of the coproporphyrinogen oxidase (CPOX) gene, and classifying the susceptibility of the subject to developing a neurobehavioral deficit associated with mercury exposure. A subject determined to possess the CPOX4 polymorphism in at least one allele of the CPOX gene is classified as having an increased susceptibility to developing at least one neurobehavioral deficit associated with mercury exposure compared to a subject with no CPOX4 polymorphisms.
