  • Patent number: 10926150
Abstract: A sports training/exercise apparatus attached to a swinging sports apparatus, typically a racquet and most specifically a tennis racquet. The apparatus includes a drag chute with a rigid member disposed therearound and a clamp secured to each side of the drag chute. A transverse support rod is positioned between the clamps and includes an aperture therein. The apparatus further includes brackets at the top and bottom of the racquet head. A longitudinal support rod is positioned between the brackets and extends through the aperture in the transverse support rod. Thus, the transverse support rod, the side clamps, and the drag chute are slidable along the longitudinal support rod to adjust resistance. A locking mechanism can be used to lock the transverse support rod in a position along the longitudinal support rod.

  • Patent number: 10478696
Abstract: A sports training device attached to the shaft of a swinging sports apparatus, such as a baseball bat. The device includes a drag chute disposed between two rigid members, a support rod disposed between the two rigid members along the longitudinal axis of the chute, and a plurality of coupling elements connected to the support rod. Each coupling element includes an annular opening for positioning of the sports apparatus therethrough. One coupling element has a stationary component that secures the device to the sports apparatus and a rotating component that rotates 360° around the sports apparatus. As such, the entirety of the device, with exception to this stationary component, can substantially freely rotate 360° around the sports apparatus. Resistance during a swing can be adjusted by sliding the coupling mechanisms along the support rod to expose more or less of the chute.

  • Patent number: 9662524
Abstract: A sports training device designed for attachment to the shaft of a swinging sports apparatus, such as a golf club, tennis racket, baseball bat, hockey stick, or any other sports apparatus that is intended to be swung while playing a sport. The training device generally includes a drag panel/chute/airfoil, two (2) distinct connection points to the sports apparatus, and a support rod is disposed between the connection points substantially parallel to the shaft of the sports apparatus and to the length of the drag panel. The connection points include coupling mechanisms (e.g., pipe clips, snap clamps, etc.) that allow for 360° rotation about the sports apparatus. In use, the drag panel provides additional air resistance during the swinging of the sports apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9636560
Abstract: A sports training device attached to the shaft of a swinging sports apparatus, such as a golf club, tennis racket, baseball bat, hockey stick, or other sports apparatus that is intended to be swung while playing a sport. The device includes proximal and distal attachment mechanisms, where the proximal attachment mechanism is disposed at the proximal end of the device and the distal attachment mechanism is disposed between the proximal and distal ends of the device. A stiffener element is disposed at the distal end of the device, and a drag chute is secured to each end of the device. An elongated rod extends along each side of the panel between the proximal attachment mechanism and the stiffener element. The proximal attachment mechanism is secured to the sports apparatus; the distal attachment mechanism is disposed semi-freely around the sports apparatus. The training device rotates about the sports apparatus in synchronization.
