  • Publication number: 20210346046
Abstract: Disposable cover for a mechanical resection device. At least one example is a surgical system including: a bottom cover and a motor drive unit (MDU). The bottom cover may include: a lower trough defined by an inside surface of the bottom cover; a cover receptacle; a stationary hub rigidly coupled to the cover receptacle, the stationary hub protruding into the lower trough; and a transmission shaft defining proximal coupler, a distal coupler, and a longitudinal central axis, the transmission shaft extends through the stationary hub such that the distal coupler is in operational relationship to the cover receptacle. The MDU, disposed within the lower trough, may define a motor with a drive shaft, a handpiece receptacle on an end of the MDU, and a handpiece coupler in operational relationship to the handpiece receptacle, the handpiece receptacle telescoped over the stationary hub, and the handpiece coupler coupled to the proximal coupler.

  • Patent number: 8579927
Abstract: Systems and methods for remote endarterectomy are disclosed. In an embodiment, a device for remote endarterectomy includes an elongated member, having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis therebetween; an endarterectomy unit at the distal end of the elongated member formed by a first member engaged to a second member in a substantial secure alignment with the second member, wherein the endarterectomy unit has a circumferential enclosure configured to separate a plaque core from a blood vessel and an open region surrounded by the enclosure and configured to receive the separated plaque core therethrough; and an actuator coupled to the proximal end of the elongated member for translating the first member relative to the second member across the open space to transect the plaque core received in the open space.

  • Patent number: 6435897
Abstract: A compact PCI connector guide to be attached to a motherboard of a small computer system to surround a male PCI connector that is affixed to the motherboard. The PCI connector guide is adapted to accurately and automatically guide an incoming female PCI connector that is carried on a detachable peripheral printed circuit board into mating engagement with the male PCI connector, whereby the motherboard and the peripheral board are electrically interconnected with one another. The PCI connector guide has a body and flared lips projecting outwardly therefrom to automatically redirect the female PCI connector towards and into receipt by the male PCI connector without subjecting the contact pins of the male PCI connector to damage as a consequence of the male and female PCI connectors being misaligned with one another.
